Low toner message after 85 sheets?? Bought printer 4 months ago and after only printing 85 sheets, getting a message on my computer that toner cartridge needs replacement!!! Otherwise, no problem with machine & print quality is good.
Brother cheats its customers by fleecing them on toner cartridges Like other reviewers, I am disgusted by a company that makes a printer that STOPS PRINTING after low toner messages start to appear, and these messages appear very early in the life of the cartridge. Brother let me down I bought the machine in January 2012. It was always balky on printing envelopes. By November, after spending a few hours with customer support, Brother replaced it with a refurbished machine, since they could not figure out the problem. In March 2013, vertical lines started appearing on scanned or copied documents while using the document feeder. I read and followed the recommendations in the owner's manual. Causing a power surge when I print When I print to this printer it causes a power surge that shuts off my computer. Restarting the computer loads a warning screen in the bios that says it experienced a power surge. I've been on the phone with Brother support and they are unable to help; I didn't find their tier 1 or tier 2 support very knowledgeable. I am taking it to an authorized Brother dealer next, but of course I wish I hadn't bought this printer.
High Quality Affordable Laser Printer For years I have been using inkjet printers. Everyone of them became over sized paperweights after a few months. The colored ink cartridges were over priced. It was a no-brainer to finally decide to purchase a laser printer because my previous injet printers were a joke. I would pay $75-$100 for one and then the cost of ink would exceed the worth of these printers. Not recommended. Lots of problems. Brother customer service is horrible. You will wait on hold for at least 40 minutes. The machine always has problems making a connection with your PC. Even the cd-rom to install doesn't install properly... not recommended to buy this...
manual feed is worthless; toner leaks; curls the paper The manual feed always prints out sideway, no matter what I do to try and keep it straight. I have ruined many postage printouts on this printer. The toner will often leak out onto the paper too. Lastly, the pages get a pretty severe curl to them, so there is no way you can reload to print on the reverse side.
A real work horse A replacement for an older Brother Printer. I like these products. Not complex - almost plug & play. Shipped just fine, no issues.
No frills but it does the job Bought this to replace our HP all-in-one color inkjet because we were fed up with dried out ink and poor networking compatibility.
