Ink Guzzler I received this printer as a Christmas gift from my friend purchased from Amazon. This printer works fine, overall, if you don't do anything complex--label, envelope, etc. I actually like this multifunction unit until it starts to run low on the ink. Hence, my biggest complaint about this unit: if your ink runs low, you WILL NOT be able to even scan a simple document into your PC/Mac until you refill/replace your cartridge. Nightmare Install I recently bought a new computer with Windows 7 but my old printer did not support Windows 7 so I was forced to buy a new printer. I saw really good reviews in Consumer Reports and using on-line reviews of the Brothers MFC-7360N printer. I bought it and installed it assuming it was a simple plug and install. pure junk After 8 hours of trying to install the PC Control Center 4 software PLUS 1 hour with Brother support I returned this junk. Just don't buy this thing. Junk.
A SLAVE TO INKJETS NO MORE! After several years of using INKJET printers, I had finally had enough! I was sick of spending ridiculous amounts of money for ink cartridges--that were apparently more plastic than ink. The final straw was finding out that I couldn't print in greyscale because the other COLORS had run dry! I couldn't even TRICK the printer into thinking it had a full cartridge installed! Incredibly Noisy Unfortunately, this unit is incredibly loud after it finishes printing and stays on for a very long time afterwards. In my case, the noise also included a rattle. On the plus side, the printing is excellent for such an inexpensive machine. However, the noise is a fatal flaw.
Networking does not work well with Mac OS X Lion Great printer/scanner/copier if hooked up via USB, but the built-in networking does not work well with Lion. Snow Leopard works well, but upgrading to Lion gives intermittent and unreliable network connections to the Mac (Windows connectivity has never been a problem). I've downloaded all the Lion drivers, I've reset everything and talked to the friendly folks in India for a while -- no luck. Fine if you never need to print envelopes The machine works well in many ways, but requires opening the back cover and flipping a switch there in order to print envelopes. That rather defeats its benefits in a space-limited office. It also will not scan or receive faxes if the toner is less than 25% full. The print quality can be perfect but no scanning, no faxes. Obviously the primary purpose of the machine is to sell expensive toner cartridges.
Printer for small office. Scans in color to the computer. Can us usb or router wire to connect. Will not copy legal on print surface. Hard to see display, it should be maybe brighter. Small footprint. Handles multi originals well. When it asks to change the cartridge, just remove and shake side to side up and back and you will get a LOT more copies. Nice little machine and cannot beat the price. Thanks amazon.
no toner cartridge i will be posting a better business bureau complaint on this one, i have printed less then 200 sheets and it is telling me to replace the toner cartridge already, it had better be broken because that little of toner comes with it is nothing less then a crime!
