We were a table of six and all ordered different items and no one, I mean not one of usus, enjoyed their food. It had no flavor art all.. From the hot brown burger to the cod fish sandwich, everything was a major let down. The only good thing about it was our server, I will never eat there again!!!
For a place that specializes in burgers, I would expect at least a decent burger. Instead, the signature "Bru Burger" was greasy and tasteless. The bottom bun was soaked through and through, nearly to mush. Side of fries were luke warm. Soft drink was flat. Clearly not a good night (a Tuesday at 7pm). Atmosphere is standard Applebee's-like, except for outdoor seating that might be nice in moderate temperatures. Service was friendly and attentive. This was our third and final try.
I ordered a turkey burger. While it was very tasty it was impossible to eat. the burger actually slipped out of the bun when I picked it up. Who eats a burger with a knife and fork? That's what I was forced to do. The bottom half of the bun disintegrated. When I mentioned that to our server she was totally disinterested. My guess it happens often. Not my favorite place.
We like to go to Bru for quick dinners. I find the menu somewhat limited. I tend to order the same thing. I would love to try their salads but the descriptions are so poor in their menus I hesitate to try them. I got a call from the manager on the way home asking why we didn't honor our reservation. It is the second time this has happened. Someone isn't paying attention as I always tell them my name and that I have a reservation.
Our first visit to this Lexington burger joint was quite promising; however, our repeat visit revealed a diminished quality in the burgers (? size reduction, ? meat quality reduction) so that the relatively expensive prices did not seem as appropriate as before. In addition, the small table provided our party of 5 did not permit any movement to avoid the glare of the sun through the poorly shaded windows, reducing the ambiance to barely tolerable. Won't be back again.
My husband and I made reservations for Valentine's Day at Bru Burger. We had heard good things about the restaurant and looked forward to a nice meal. When we arrived, the host staff (three people) seemed confused about where to seat us, even though we'd made reservations well in advance. They finally offered a high-top table near the entrance.
