After bringing my two dogs to Brykerwood for over 2 years, we finally bit the bullet and moved to Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital. The care we got there was good, but the experience is awful. You don't get a very "personal" experience there--you see a different vet everytime you come in, and they don't remember you from anyone else. You feel like you're just a number there, kinda like bringing your car to some Quick Lube place where you're one of many they see in a day. Just impersonal. I must have visited the Twilight Zone version of that clinic. (NOTE: this was a while back). I saw the older main vet guy. When he was checking out my cat, he asked my boobs what I do for a living. My perfunctory answer, which was "I am a ___ at ___," didn't warrant his response that I am a "well rounded woman". When he took my cat for a test, he made a joke about how sad it was that he had to euthanize her, then he smacked my arm and told me to lighten up. I hated that guy. I've told people this story and they flat out don... read more
