My animals WERE and have been under the care of Dr. Beale and Brykerwood Vet Clinic for over a decade. This clinic USED to be the best in town and my animals were always treated with the utmost care. Unfortunately over the past few years the front desk, support staff and veterinarian doctors have taken this clinic down to the bottom of a dumpster and lit it on fire. Do Not Waste your time here and go to another clinic.

Business response:

Unfortunately they were charging us over double for prescriptions and refuse to authorize prescriptions for other pharmacies over the phone. So have to mail prescriptions into chewy. They charged 5$ to just write the script. They did not tell us this until after we left, and did not try to make it right or apologize for the inconvenience. Very expensive for basic services.

Was a patient of Brykerwood for multiple generations of animals over 30 years. While I've noticed a decline in quality in recent years, it's gotten much worse. The best Vets have left. The vets on staff seem young, inexperienced, and lack vital communication skills. I was proud to recommend Brykerwood for years. I will never bring one of my animals back there again. I'm not happy to share this, but I feel it's important to let others know what (and what not) to expect, which is expert veterinary care, communications skills, ... read more

Brykerwood Veterinary Clinic claims to prioritize its relationship with clients and their pets. Don't be mistaken though, not even 50 years of loyal patronage will stop them from imposing unnecessary on-the-spot fees if you're so much as eight minutes late to an appointment. It won't matter how many years you've been bringing your animals to them; it won't matter how many thousands upon thousands of dollars you've given them over the years of trusting them with your pets. Beware of the $30 "work in" fee if you are more than ... read more

They don't let you pets out for potty breaks when staying for all day treatments. Half ass treatments to get money. This place should be shut down and licenses should be revoked.

Update: Holy cow, I didn't know how bad the service at Brykerwood was until I began taking my dogs to North Austin Animal Hospital. First off, my golden retriever was diagnosed with a serious heart murmur at Brykerwood. I suggested it might be anxiety and was almost mocked for the suggestion. Their vets were telling me to prepare to lose him or put him down. I was distraught. I took him to North Austin Animal Hospital and they found NO SIGNS of a murmur. Furthermore they said that yes, anxiety could cause something that so... read more

I have been going to Brykerwood for almost 30 years. I have spent thousands of dollars and used to joke with the staff that we should name one of the examining rooms after an especially expensive (treatment wise) cat. Unfortunately I will never go back or recommend them to anyone. Am not sure what happened as I loved the staff and vets but something happened a few years ago resulting in a completely staff turnover. Talk about an about face in customer interactions!!! They are rude, condescending and inept. I had called... read more

We've been taking out pets there for years. My oldest dog has developed hip problems so I sought to get him some PT and needed a referral for the person to help my dog. It's been two weeks and still no signature from the vet. So I called over today and was told "we're really busy and the vet will get to it when they have time". I was given no timeline when I could get the referral either and completely brushed off. Totally rude and belittling my pets situation. I will not bring my dog back there and don't see why a... read more

Brykerwood is the absolute WORST. My brother's dog was throwing up constantly and coughing so he took him to get checked out, and they said nothing was wrong. Within a month, the dog was unable to stand up and quickly taken to the ER. At the ER, they said cancer was all over his body and there was no way to treat it. Cancer was in his lungs, kidneys, liver, and lymph nodes. Brykerwood did not even take an X-ray to explore what was wrong with the dog - how did it not occur to the vet to check for cancer or refer them to an on... read more
