It is perfect if you are going to the opera, ballet or NY Phil. But it is noisy so you have to request a table in the quiet area. Also it is pricey, but makes a great complement to the rest of the evening.,
Café Fiorello is the only place for dinner before an evening at the Philharmonic or Met Opera. Service is attentive, food is always prepared beautifully, and one is never disappointed.
Snug bistro feel, great food. Their unique lasagne is a must.
With the location being so close to Lincoln Center this should be a great spot. I was so excited to finally get to go. (I walk past it atleast 3X a week. ) The staff was nice and well intentioned. They walked around with fresh baked cookies. No pizza before 8pm for dinner. My food was ok, I had the lobster Fra Diavla (VERY MESSY & I've had much much better), my boyfriend's food was just ok too. I might try them again for a lunch, but first impressions.
2015 marks my 40th year of being a happy customer at Fiorello's; I started going in 1975, the year after it opened, when I worked on the second floor of the building where it's located. The restaurant is consistently excellent, in terms of food, service, and ambiance. My out-of-town guests were there for the first time, and they loved everything, from appetizers to dessert. And it was my friend's birthday; she really enjoyed the truly-operatic version of "Happy birthday to you" offered by one of the very talented waiters. Th... read more
The service and the food were 5 stars, The host greets you warmly by name; the serve does the same when you depart. The pasta is homemade and super fresh, the fish was expertly cooked, and for dessert, a bucket, yes, a bucket, of dark chocolate mousse. Add in the "potato latkes" they threw in (it was Hanukkah) and you have a memorable meal steps from Lincoln Center.
Based on two visits, there can be a true mob scene at this large restaurant across from Lincoln Center. Maître de is efficient at moving the crowd, though I wouldn't enter without a reservation. However, it was good to see someone with a brain at the front desk. Food was reasonable and service very efficient, but the stress level is high. Don't try substitutions to the menu. Waitstaff was helpful, but clearly overloaded. Not a place I would go for that special evening, but they will get to out in time for the show.
This was my sister's first visit to Café Fiorello and we were in time for Saturday brunch. My Eggs Fiorentino were delicious and her pizza delighted her with its thin crust and ample sausage and roasted red pepper topping.
WE HAD A LARGE PARTY FOR BRUNCH AND IT WAS JUST WONDERFUL.SERVERCE AND FFOOD WERE GREAT
