Just left the clinic in Van Dorn. Will never go back there again!!! Waited for over 40 minutes for an appointment that never came! I called in the morning for a same day, sick appointment, and they assured me a slot was available in the evening. So here I am rearranging my afternoon, scrambling with my work schedule to beat traffic and meet the time. My dog has been licking her hot spot, and is quite irritated & uncomfortable. So we had to get this resolved right away. We got to the clinic early, and understandably waite... read more
Business response:
We were so disappointed to hear about your experience. We know how frustrating it is to wait for an appointment and we try our very best to stay on schedule. We are glad that you were able to see Dr. Evans and are so happy to hear that your pup is starting to feel better. As you said, we absolutely want to make sure that our patients and their pet parents receive the best care and we really appreciate you providing us with your feedback. Please reach out to us if you have any further questions or concerns.
31 dollars for a 2 minute nail trim. People are nice but I will never come back or recommend. Thank you for replying- however 31 dollars for 2 minutes of time is absolutely absurd. I have let everyone in my neighborhood know to go elsewhere due to this. We will all be going to different vet offices and grooming. Also- with the nail cut it was the worst job my job has ever gotten in all 5 years of his life.
Business response:
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand your concern about pricing for our nail trims. Since we are an animal hospital with highly-trained staff, we have to charge appropriately for the time set aside for the appointment. We hope that you understand, and do keep us in mind for medical care for your pet in the future.
STAY away!! I brought my dog in for blood work (which they do not run in house). During the visit the techs stabbed my dog repeatedly could not find a vein (bruising his legs). They charged me $300 for blood work only to leave me a voice message the following day (AFTER they were closed) that my dog may have a life threatening medical condition and I might want to bring him into a 24/hour hospital. Because they waited until they were closed I had to pay the emergency hospital to repeat the same freaking test. This place... read more

We are disheartened to hear about your experience. We understand that it can be very stressful when you are worried about your pet's health and we never want a pet parent to feel abandoned. The owner of the practice called your phone and left a message in hopes of discussing your concerns. Please call us back at your earliest convenience. We would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you.
I used to really love Caring Hands Animal Hospital. Our regular vet, Dr. Planeta, clearly cared about giving my dog fantastic care, was responsive to requests and questions, and followed up via email or phone. Since she has left, I have been exceptionally disappointed with the service here. On multiple occasions, the appointment staff have clearly been trying to take advantage of the situation to try to make an extra buck for the firm rather than focusing on delivering excellent care in a fair manner. The first time, I had... read more

We are deeply disappointed in the service we have provided you on multiple occasions. Your frustration is understandable and we are disheartened to hear about this. Dr. Newman, the hospital owner, called and left a message on your phone. He would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you regarding this situation, as well as your previous visits with us. We hope to speak with you soon.
Just moved into the area & have been looking for a new vet. Finding a trustworthy vet that doesn't over charge & push unnecessary treatments is hard to find. After going through yelp I found this hidden gem. The staff are super friendly, the location is convenient & the prices are low. I have been to Caring Hands a couple times with my shitzu Mimi (she needed to be spade & that takes at least three apt) every time the service is great :)
Business response:
We understand the need to find a pet care provider you trust. We are proud that you have found that in us. Please give Mimi a kiss for us and thank you for being a part of our Caring Hands family!
This is a couple month old review... but just getting around to writing a review. I really didn't feel like the doctor knew what she was doing? For some reason, the clinic didn't carry the drugs they prescribed so I spent the next 3 hours of my sunny, beautiful, warm Saturday afternoon driving and calling around all over the creation (including calling back and forth to the vet and putting the vet in touch with the pharmacy technician) to try and find the drug. Vet never admitted to me the problem with me not being able to f... read more
Business response:
Thank you for your important feedback. We apologize for the obvious inconvenience in obtaining proper medication for your pet. We would like to understand our mistake and make sure it does not happen again. It would be helpful if we knew which medication was improperly prescribed. Please consider contacting our Practice Manager, Chris Hiatt at 703-778-2500. We would greatly appreciate this.
Go to the Arlington one. The Alexandria one makes you feel like your have drugs and procedures sold to you rather than feeling like you are cared for. They feel pushy and cold. Arlington staff super nice , informative and never makes you feel uncomfortable.
Business response:
We are so sorry about your recent experience. We would appreciate the opportunity to find out more. Please contact our practice manager, Chris, at your earliest convenience.
We have 2 kittens and took them here because we have a voucher from the Animal Welfare League for a discount on spay and neutering. We paid $195 to the AWL who directed us to Caring Hands. All of the charges are listed on the AWL form except for an additional $65 per cat fee for a "physical examination" which is not listed. We think they should let the consumer know about the $65 physical exam fee ahead of time especially if they have a AWL voucher. Just beware if you have the AWL voucher you will be charged $65 in addi... read more
Business response:
Thank you for your review, Phillip. We agree that all fees should be outlined a little more clearly. We will work with the AWL to ensure that this is done in the future, and we will also make sure that this is clear when booking appointments using the AWL voucher. We appreciate your feedback and please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
So horribly disappointed and saddened by the service I received with this vet. I have a new 8 week old Great Dane puppy and he is "knuckling" a little bit. The vet I saw was nothing short of horrible. I normally wouldn't judge so harshly and I rarely leave negative feedback anywhere. I explained all of the research I had completed on this condition and how it is diet related. I provided feedback from my breeder and the vet nothing short of scoffed at me. She said this wasn't related to diet (it is), she immediately recommend... read more
