I found Caring Hands after adopting my kitty, Toby, earlier this year. Thankfully have only needed routine visits but my experience with Caring Hands staff and Dr Evans have been great! Receptionists and vet techs are friendly and Dr Evans takes her time to make sure all questions are answered and all recommendations are clear. So glad I found Caring Hands!

I am not even sure where to begin... I have a 3 year English bulldog who I adore I refer to him as my son lol. He had been passing stones for about a year and they had started to happen frequently. Unfortunately a large stone got stuck in his urethra causing him to strain to pee. He was throwing up a lot Sunday and he was rushed to ER and stopped breathing while they tried to put the catheter in :-( he vomited from all the sedatives that TLC gave him :(. He was kept over night. I took him to caring hands Monday morning and... read more

Robyn, we are so sorry that you and your pup have had such a rough time. You are such a dedicated mom to him and he is such a trooper! It is so touching for us to hear what an impact we have had in our patient's lives. We cannot express enough how much it strengthens us. We are proud to have been able to provide care for you guys. We hope he has a speedy recovery! He is lucky to have you as his mom.
What a wonderful Place to take our furbabies. We are a military family and moving with our geriatric pets is always a stressful time. Finding a new Vet at each new place can be nerveracking. Caring Hands has such a great reputation that we decided they would be the place we tried after we arrived in the area. We could not be happier with that decision. We had our first appointment last night and from the moment we walked through the door it was a wonderful experience. Friendly Staff and Compassionate Tech and Vet care w... read more

Michelle, your glowing review has made our day! We understand there are many pet care choices available, and we are so thankful you chose us. We appreciate your family's sacrifices to serve our country and being able to be there for such an important member of your family is the least we can do.
My Lab and I visited this location today as I am new to the area, read other positive reviews and it happens to be close to my home. From the minute we walked in, I knew this was to be our long term vet. The staff are warm and friendly and took to my girl immediately. She, in turn, loved the attention! Dr. Planeta was awesome. She and her assistant, god, I hate that I cannot recall her name, got right down on the floor with my girl and lovingly, conducted their exam. They clearly love what they do and it showed. As promise... read more

Lisa we are so happy you had a great experience. We hope your pup fits into her bikini soon! ;) We look forward to seeing her progress!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the staff at Caring Hands they are beyond awesome. I took my other JRT there for all of his shots before I started taking my current JRT mix there. I started out at the Glebe Road location, but than transferred to the Van Dorn location when I learned that was where Dr. Planeta was now at. Dr. Planeta is AWESOME!!! I first met her when my dog had an altercation with another dog & had pulled the staples out of her leg & reopened her wound. Not only did they see us without an appointment on a Sunday but ... read more

Thank you so much for the kind words, Angie! Please do not hesitate to contact us if you ever have any questions or concerns!
Very poor customer service. Every time I got an appointment, I pray that they honor my time. Today, I had enough. My appointment was scheduled at 11:30 AM and they called me at 12:07 PM. This is disrespectful to say the least. No one addressed me to tell me "We will be right with you" or offering me water or anything. I was sitting there without being acknowleged. We have been very loyal customer for over 10 years now. We have a dog and a cat. This time the appointment was for my cat. I needed to take her there just for an e... read more

I used Caring hands (Arlington location) from 2018-2022 and then (alexandria location) 2022-2024. The techs and veterinarians are relatively decent. The FRONT END STAFF at both locations are the reason we stopped coming in. They are arrogant, RUDE, and talk crazy to people... zero customer service. To the point I no longer wanted to call this establishment or bring my pets in. They also put my pets name under a different persons name and told me I would have to contact the "owner" - a stranger-THEY put down on MY pets paperw... read more
Very expensive- inconsistent staffing. Endless emails about promotions that seemingly won't be unsubscribed. Paid almost $1,000 for two cats routine vaccination appointment and one leukemia test. Cannot get the result of that test. Not entirely sure what I paid for.
