I found Caring Hands after adopting my kitty, Toby, earlier this year. Thankfully have only needed routine visits but my experience with Caring Hands staff and Dr Evans have been great! Receptionists and vet techs are friendly and Dr Evans takes her time to make sure all questions are answered and all recommendations are clear. So glad I found Caring Hands!

I am not even sure where to begin... I have a 3 year English bulldog who I adore I refer to him as my son lol. He had been passing stones for about a year and they had started to happen frequently. Unfortunately a large stone got stuck in his urethra causing him to strain to pee. He was throwing up a lot Sunday and he was rushed to ER and stopped breathing while they tried to put the catheter in :-( he vomited from all the sedatives that TLC gave him :(. What a wonderful Place to take our furbabies. We are a military family and moving with our geriatric pets is always a stressful time. Finding a new Vet at each new place can be nerveracking. Caring Hands has such a great reputation that we decided they would be the place we tried after we arrived in the area. We could not be happier with that decision. My Lab and I visited this location today as I am new to the area, read other positive reviews and it happens to be close to my home. From the minute we walked in, I knew this was to be our long term vet. The staff are warm and friendly and took to my girl immediately. She, in turn, loved the attention! Dr. Planeta was awesome. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the staff at Caring Hands they are beyond awesome. I took my other JRT there for all of his shots before I started taking my current JRT mix there. I started out at the Glebe Road location, but than transferred to the Van Dorn location when I learned that was where Dr. Planeta was now at. Dr. Planeta is AWESOME!!! It's like a spa for pets it's so beautiful with dark tile floors and even walls. You could almost swear it was a spa for people it is so pretty. Enjoy some water or Keurig hot beverage while you wait. You can't beat the hours they are available since they have times 7 days a week and open until 8pm during the week! I highly recommend, Dr. Planeta as your primary vet. She is AMAZING!!! I called the morning of trying to get an appointment. I was relieved that they were able to fit me in that evening. My older dog, wasn't doing well and I was very concerned about her. So I was thankful they had an appointment that evening. I did call another vet, but they did not have any appointments available. I love taking my cats into Caring Hands, but the front desk staff are rude + not very professional. My sweet furr baby had what seemed to be the start of a UTI. So I make an appointment for the following day at 1pm. Unfortunately it was the day before Thanksgiving. Now let's flash forward a little, and it is now 1250pm the day of my cats appointment. Misdiagnosed my cat. I usually go to El Paws but they were fully booked so I took my cat to caring hands I told them my cat had not used the litter box for over 3 days and they gave me a diagnosis of fleas and gave my cat a flea treatment that was $600 for the exam and flea treatment I took my cat to El paw when she still had not used the litter box and they took an X-ray and found that my cat was impacted with stool and had a liver mass they gave my cat an enema and some stool softener and she was back to normal she is stil... read more
