Really disappointed in this vet and their lack of service. Since they are nearly ALWAYS out of the prescription diet that I need I order from Chewy.com (which I love, love, love) and Chewy contacts my vet for a renewal of the prescription -- I also get some of other medications from Chewy.com as well since it is just more convenient than having to go in to see the vet (not to mention making an appointment and paying more money) -- to make a long story short, the vet denied the prescription and said that they had not seen my... read more
The comment from Rachel R., Bus Mgr of Caring Hands Animal Hospital, is what I expected after reading the responses to many serious complaints on Yelp about the care provided by "Caring Hands Animal Hospital" of Alexandria. Rachel expresses sympathy and concern and suggests more discussion. A day after her marketing response, I received a long email from Brian Neumann, Partner and Medical Director, in which he makes a multitude of excuses about the care or lack thereof, never taking responsibility for the actions or neglect.... read more
Business response:
Thank you for your feedback. We were absolutely concerned about your new kitty and have tried to call both you and your wife multiple times and have not been able to connect. Transparency and trust are cornerstones of the care we provide. An example of this is that we always do our exams and vaccines with the owner present. Our medical director left a voice message with his personal cell phone to discuss further. Please contact him at your convenience.
Caution: If you have a dying senior pet, avoid this place. It promotes making you and your beloved pet suffer needlessly after you have come to a very difficult decision. My story: I picked up euthanasia forms a day before, so my pet and I would be less stressed and the procedure would go faster. I was ready and mentally prepared to do this. When I arrived, the vet promoted more tests which showed nothing wrong (but cost a whopping $600+ for the visit). Long discussion, he persuaded me that my pet could improve and live... read more

We are deeply sorry for your loss and are disheartened to hear about your experience with us. We did not intend to incur any undue stress. Dr. Brian Neumann, our medical director, has tried to reach out a few times to connect with you. We would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further about your concerns so that we may learn how we can better serve in the future. We hope to speak with you soon.
Absolutely horrid. Completely lacks any sense of responsibility, accountability and baseline fundamentals. I called late July 2019 / early August 2019 to schedule all five kitties to be transferred to this clinic's care. After a discussion re: the available vets we agreed upon Dr. Lauren Doss on Fri 8/30 at 1:30 pm (for the 2 boys) and at 4 pm (for the 3 girls) and that they would reach out to Kingstowne Cat Clinic to transfer their medical records so that those were ready well before the visits. I took a day off of work (Fr... read more

Thank you for sharing your review. We are so sorry we did not meet your needs and have taken your feedback very seriously. Our practice owner called and left a message on the phone number on file to speak with you regarding your concerns. We hope to speak with you soon.
Not a great practice. I took my dog to this practice to have a mass checked out. They sliced into the mass and created a large wound. Their quote for surgery was extremely expensive. I went to another vet for a second option and the second vet mentioned that the first vet should not have sliced into the mass like they did, but instead use a thin needle. Also, the second vet found a second lump, significantly larger than the first. Caring Hands missed it. The second vet's quote for the surgery was much more inexpensive ... read more

We showed up, with what we think is an emergency with our dog. They couldn't even articulate that they wouldn't see us. They handed us a brochure for another vet clinic that's open 24 hours. Turns out they didn't want to be bothered with our dog, because they closed in 30 minutes. I won't be back and I won't recommend.

This was originally posted on Google, but after a tone deaf response from them I honestly want others to know how much this vet lacks compassion. TL;DR Unwilling/Too greedy to sell me a couple cans of prescription cat food for my dying cat even with a valid prescription from his oncologist. My cat has been battling cancer for two years, he nearly had his GI Lymphoma in remission when he took a sudden turn for the worse last week and developed renal cancer as well. He spent the night in the vet and his oncologist prescribed... read more
My suggestion for future new clients would be to offer them a seat. Saying "let me see what I can do" would have been a better response to a new client rather than "we're by appointment only". Even if the ultimate response was you're all booked for the day would've sufficed. I would've waited a couple of hours or came back later in the day to be accommodated. I felt unwelcomed. Good luck with your business though :-)
Business response:
We are sorry to hear about your experience. We typically operate with scheduled appointment times to be respectful of our clients' time. Often times if our rooms are occupied, there may not be many clients waiting in our lobby. We know that it may seem like it would be a simple vaccine, but we are legally required to complete a comprehensive physical exam each time a rabies vaccine is administered. We hope that you understand this and we are always here if you need us in the future. We would be happy to speak with you o... read more
Rude staff, is not willing to make accommodations for DIRE courtesy appointments. We will not be bringing our dog back here as they are not caring, and unprofessional.
Business response:
We are so disappointed to hear about your recent experience with us. We attempted to reach out by phone and left a message. We would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you to find out how we can improve our service and client care. Please give Chris a call at 703-778-2500 at your earliest convenience.
