Formally a Brookdale property. spoke with [name removed]. Nurse who assessed Dad sent paperwork to corporate for further review. Dad handed nurse a card that he had from Comfort Keepers (inhome service). Hospital nurses said his behaviors were not controlled. She told me to make sure that court yards were internal... he might try to escape by climbing the fence. Has sent patients for a psychiatric facility in SC. She will call me with the name.
I was very impressed with what I saw and learned at this facility. This is the first tour. [Name removed] was very knowledgeable and very pleasant.
The Social at Cotswold is a nice place. I'm very happy here. The team members are great they are always willing to help. People are very friendly here.
Everybody is kind. I love the food here at The Social. The best thing I do here at The Social is the exercise. I’m thankful for the team members that work here.

There was a core group of about four staff members who were wonderful for Mom and loved her. They were very, very upset when she passed away in July. The director of the facility was absolutely no help with anything. And if they felt like the staff was getting too close to a family, they would either move them to another floor or fire them. They don't do laundry, steal sanitary supplies for other residents, and lie about their ability to provide catheter care. The executive director will pass blame and accept zero responsibility.
In my opinion, the beautiful facility is under staffed and the staff on hand was not trained to care for my husband. He was left alone a lot so he was allowed to wander around and ended up in other patients rooms. My husband has Alzheimer's disease. They ended up sending him to the hospital without my consent, last straw for me. The ER doctor is the way I was notified because she didn't know why he was there. Bottom line, they're not equipped for people with dementia.
Putting humans in a warehouse for old people is a tragic experience. Memory Care is the worst. Charter Senior Living is a for profit enterprise. Costs are cut to make a profit. This showed in some of the low quality caregivers they hired and some of the med techs they hired. The people who worked there were a mixed bag. Some were caring and attentive to my wife and some just ignored her or did not try to help her. When I tried to get answers to medical questions, it was extremely difficult.
