They closed their tellers for machines 2 years ago and has been downhill ever since.. customer service is not good...tremendous long wait lines and dont even try to phone..ive spent hours on phones and they pass the buck to someone else who cant help either
I've been banking with Citadel for years and they've only gotten worse with regard to the hoops you have to go to, wanted to close out an account and just put the money in my savings from money market so it didn't go below the amount needed to avoid fees was told I have to come in and prove who I am since it was over $1000, BUT if I transferred down to only $1000 then immediately fees would be applied, they do NOT bank with the customer in mind, so finished with them, through the years I've had an awful lot of money they mad... read more
My 8 year relationship with Citadel FCU is going to end on a poor note due to Citadel's total inept loan department and mishandling of a fully secured loan request by a CD as follows. In August 2019 requested a 2 month loan whose amount is much less than my CD due to mature in October 2019. Carol in the loan department took my request over the phone and handled a similar request last year. I really would not recommend this credit union to anyone who is human. They are almost impossible to deal with. They create so many loops holes for their members/exmembers to find out information they are entitled too. I asked for documents on an old car loan I had with them so I can come to some kind of agreement on paying them back the rep stated I had to drive to a branch and pay $2 per page in addition to paying $60 a hour so they could research on the other documents I am in need of!!! They don't even deserve 1 star. Worst customer service I've ever experienced and very unprofessional branch staff. Staff is a good example of the company's moral value. I went to the branch to make payments multiple times and no one informed me about my credit card issues and they close the card without even bothering to informing me when I went there. Not good about if you stuck with them. Sucks never experience bank like this one. Not helpful attitude personally they rude.
Can't get help with a simple bank statement that was supposed to be available yesterday, online. Two other banks we deal with had no problem making them available on time, on a Sunday. We called Citadel to ask if we could drive to the branch to have it printed and they said no, they aren't generated yet and they don't know when they will be generated. Bad personal loan agreements I personally do not agree or have ever had a withdraw money from a Joint account for a debt in your spouses name and totally a separate agreement .This is the first I ever had this happen. I even caught them re arranging transactions to cause courtesy pay fees, and wouldn't have gotten .Also after being credited back money that caused a over draft fee, i wasnt even given the fee back which caused more fees.So I had to call and have them fix this issue which they did do without a problem.But over ... read more
I rue the day I took a loan from Citadel. I have to watch my accounts like a hawk to confirm I am not "nickled and dimed" (actually, more like dollared) every month. They open accounts I do not want and do not ask for, they refuse to close said accounts, charge me fees when they claim it will not cost me a dime, and charge me for transactions I do not perform.
