Just being perfectly honest, didn't love the food. We went for lunch and ordered a lot of different stuff but just weren't impressed by any of it unfortunately. The morale in the restaurant seemed low from the manager walking around to the wait staff. Obviously could be a wrong observation, but it is how we felt. The presentation of food was nice but taste is more important.
The quality of service has really gone down hill. The older manager that always seems to be there is always rude and short. Don't have a beautiful outside fire pit if you aren't going to use it. We don't mind if short handed, we can go to the bar and get our own drinks and still enjoy the fire.
I had dinner with a group of ladies last night. This was none of our first times eating here and we were all looking forward to our dinner to celebrate a friends birthday. Sat at the bar. Bad choice. Not good bartenders. Food used to be great there but today was really poor. Not sure why. Reassessing this place. Used to be my favorite in downtown Alpharetta.
Ordered FD meal for my dad online, they didn't have the order ready as scheduled by 7:20! Instead the order was prepared after we showed up to pick the food, by the time it was ready the time was 7:50. The portion was small on top of that.
Last night, they seemed very understaffed at Citizen Soul which is probably why nothing turned out right. We wanted to have dinner at the bar but after the starters and my drink I decided not to continue with more food. The Grilled Octopus was very small, and hard, the Flatbread Pizza plain and almost cold. My husband and I have been here many times, and we've always enjoyed our meals and the service. We will not be returning after what happened to us Saturday evening. I made a reservation for a friend's birthday party on Saturday. We had 16 guests joining, but the actual number fell to 13. I have never had such a terrible experience! Stopped by here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and it didn't disappoint. The only thing I would say is to expand the appetizer menu. My husband and I both had the citizen mule and the drink was pretty good. Please be careful tho, it doesn't seem like it had any alcohol in it but that drink hit me fast. There was a table, very close, next to our table with 2 big dogs. One of the big dogs came over and licked my table and my glass of water. The dog's tongue touched the bottom of my glass of water. I could see the dog's saliva at the bottom of my glass and on the table. Then, both dogs came and sniff my hands. There was also a scent that smelled like the combination of pee and Fritos.
