Sat at the bar. Bad choice. Not good bartenders. Food used to be great there but today was really poor. Not sure why. Reassessing this place. Used to be my favorite in downtown Alpharetta.
Ordered FD meal for my dad online, they didn't have the order ready as scheduled by 7:20! Instead the order was prepared after we showed up to pick the food, by the time it was ready the time was 7:50. The portion was small on top of that.
Last night, they seemed very understaffed at Citizen Soul which is probably why nothing turned out right. We wanted to have dinner at the bar but after the starters and my drink I decided not to continue with more food. The Grilled Octopus was very small, and hard, the Flatbread Pizza plain and almost cold. My husband and I have been here many times, and we've always enjoyed our meals and the service. We will not be returning after what happened to us Saturday evening. I made a reservation for a friend's birthday party on Saturday. We had 16 guests joining, but the actual number fell to 13. I have never had such a terrible experience! Stopped by here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and it didn't disappoint. The only thing I would say is to expand the appetizer menu. My husband and I both had the citizen mule and the drink was pretty good. Please be careful tho, it doesn't seem like it had any alcohol in it but that drink hit me fast. There was a table, very close, next to our table with 2 big dogs. One of the big dogs came over and licked my table and my glass of water. The dog's tongue touched the bottom of my glass of water. I could see the dog's saliva at the bottom of my glass and on the table. Then, both dogs came and sniff my hands. There was also a scent that smelled like the combination of pee and Fritos. I sense an air of ego here. From the host, to the server, they treated us as if they were doing us a favour. I didn't like it at all. We ordered a cheese plate and three drinks on the patio. The food was absolutely amazing; the waiter was abysmal. We were celebrating 2 birthdays, and the host specifically confirmed that we were there for to celebrate our birthdays. We were seated in front of the kitchen door. I gently asked Brent if we could possibly move to a booth. "No!", said he. Oh my where do I start? What a fabulous restaurant with such tasteful food and excellent presentation! The service was also phenomenal. I ordered the shishito peppers to start.
