The food & cocktails were good, and atmosphere nice. HOWEVER, we were dismayed that the house manager keeps pulling down his mask as he is standing directly over the drinks at the bar waiting to be taken to the tables, and walks into the kitchen without his mask up. It's a shame that the manager is ruining our impression as the other staff keep theirs up and they have dividers between tables.

Terrible host staff, tried to seat me at a table that was completely wet and then was asked to move to a table set for takeout. Finally settled at the bar where service was adequate. Good martinis. The shishito peppers were too mushy and the beignets over-fried. I had initially left a 1 star but I feel that was too harsh. With better host staff, this could have been a 4 star experience.

This was our first time eating here and I wasn't impressed at all. The food was ok and the menu was very lackluster. Also, the service was very slow and it took awhile for our food to come out. I don't know if I will be back.

Well, the food was outstanding, but that was overshadowed by how the waiter rushed us in and out on a Wednesday night! I don't recommend this restaurant if you want to chit chat. We went on Wednesday intentionally to avoid the crowds on a Friday or Saturday. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. Our group greeted each other and was offered cocktails which were served promptly. Two of us had never been here before, so we asked a few questions. The waiter seemed a little impatient. Once we ordered... we ... read more

My husband and I finally decided to try Citizen Soul for a late lunch, instead of going to our standard local restaurant. We were hopeful, despite the mixed reviews. Unfortunately, neither of us enjoyed our food and we will not be returning. Ever. The service was pleasant and my cocktail was properly made. The good things stop there. We started with the pimento cheese fritters which really were not pimento cheese. They were cream cheese with a few bits of cheddar and pimento. A disappointment for Southerners. I orde... read more

The food just isn't good here. We ordered the short tib piquillo peppers, pan seared scallops, vegan grain bowl, meatballs, and some other items...none of them were flavorful. We celebrated my husband's birthday dinner here with an intimate group of four. We didn't have high expectations, but truly nothing was memorable or even that tasty. I found the dinner menu to be quite limiting and I was highly disappointed that none of the desserts were sweet - all on the bitter side. For parking, there is free garage to park in a... read more

Skip going to this restaurant if you want to go out with friends. They can't and won't accommodate or take a reservation for a party larger than 5 on Friday or Saturday nights. This is the second time I tried to make a reservation for a party of 6 and was turned down. I ate there once with my family of four and decided to try it again for a friend's birthday in August. They wouldn't accommodate us. Then today tried to make a teservationtried to go out to dinner with friends and that wasn't possible either. Really bad busine... read more

The food was fine. The table service was lacking. Our waiter served our food quickly, but then continued a 15-minute conversation with an adjacent table of 6......tried to get his attention several times, but finally walked up to him, asked for our check and left. Would have liked dessert, another glass of wine, etc

2.5 stars -Great atmosphere (decor, location) but nothing positive stood out. If we hadn't overheard the server at the next table going over their special of the night we wouldn't have known - our server never mentioned it. (By that time we had already ordered our meals). A female server stepped outside to pet two dogs, came back in and went right back to her duties. I'm pretty sure touching animals would require hand washing before touching peoples glassware?! The food is ok- lots of fluff like duck fries which are... fries... read more
