In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. I don't recommend you go if you are in a hurry. However the food is so good that you won't have room for desert. Casey is a fantastic server and when we go back we will definitely ask to be sat in her area.

My husband and I are regular diners at this Black Bear and we have recommended it to many others who are looking for a great meal at a good price, combined with prompt, friendly service. We have eaten various items from the breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu and have never been disappointed! Our most recent visit was for breakfast on 6/29/17 - prompt seating, excellent service from one of our favorite waitresses (Penny), and the usual excellent quality food. We will continue to be frequent visitors!!!
