I did not agree with the report I received. The engineer left out a major cause of my problem. I retained another company which confirmed my opinion.

I'm sorry that you disagreed with our report although my opinion is backed by an engineering degree, a professional engineering license and a decade of engineering experience as well as honors including being asked to teach classes at the National Foundation Repair Association annual conference. The cause of my foundation concerns was a major plumbing leak. He instead "diagnosed" the moisture under my house a drainage problem. It was my plumbing. I did NOT allow them to come back to follow-up.

Unfortunately, the inspection was conducted immediately after torrential rains. I recommended a plumbing test be performed and for drainage and rain gutters to be installed within my report (which she admittedly did not read) because the home had a large contributing area of rain runoff and no gutters. In my opinion, regardless of the plumbing leak, the home was in need of repair and the plumbing leak does not change the need for repair (the settlement was not correlated with plumbing leak location. Adam prepared a report for us on our homes foundation problem. It was our first contact with anyone regarding our foundation problem. After I did months of discovery and meeting with 8 or more fdn companies and another engineer, I found his report accurately described the necessary repairs to be made. I would recommend him to do your engineer report and use that as a basis for your project. All of the foundation company sales people had similar ideas, but none matched any other nor Adam's report exactly.
