TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Looking at a good amount of the recent bad reviews, I personally had to see if what people are saying was true and I can tell you upfront, those reviews are definitely wrong. I’ve been to Dave’s Locations in North Carolina and now here in Florida. I had this food Delivered to me and I’m based around the Deltona area, the food got here and was still super hot, fresh and crispy! You are greeted immediately upon entering and again told to enjoy your food once ready. Great customer service! Venue has lots of space to accommodate a large group and/or wheelchair accessibility. Food comes out hot and looks exactly as pictured. If you like paprika or similar seasoning you will love the coating on the chicken! Definitely juicy chicken strips!

For me, Dave’s Hot Chicken totally hits the spot when I’m craving spicy fried chicken tenders! Are they the best in the world, not quite, but they are definitely good— quite large in size, tender, and good flavor from the rub! If they were slightly juicier they would be amazing. Fries are always crispy and enjoyable, and their comeback sauce is crucial on both the chicken and the fries!
Honestly I think Dave’s Hot Chicken isn’t all that. All the reviews online that say the food is so good, what food are you guys eating? It’s alright, subpar at best. To me the chicken has no flavor. It’s just cayenne pepper and some spice. The Dave’s sauce is bland and not special. Also the prices are kind of outrageous. Even in today’s economy I think the prices are still way too high.
