Food was good but service was slow. We waited a little over 15 minutes for an order of two #1's. There was only one other table of 4 that had also been waiting for quite some time. The cashier needs to learn how to multitask because our food sat on the line while he kept taking orders of people walking in. Instead, he should have politely excused himself to call our ticket instead of just letting it sit there.

I had no food for dinner and my friend offered me to come with her to Dave's Hot Chicken. I haven't been to Dave's in so long. I've only tried it once like 4 years ago and never came back since. I had gotten the medium and it had good flavor but no spice. This time I got the #3 meal which had a slider, tender, and fries with hot spice. I'm starting to wonder if the spicy level is dependent on who's cooking the day of. We went a few times and usually the food comes out pretty fast, and if you're a rice university student you get a small discount. What we ordered * Dave's #3 1 tender + 1 slider w/ fries -- really great fries, crispy and well seasoned! * single slider - so I've tried hot, extra hot, and reaper. The place is filled with staff that greet you and also hardworking when I came with my friends. It's been quite a while since coming down kirby dr. I live near the opposite side and i will definitely come back here more often

I can't speak on the other chains, but this location of Dave's serves some superb chicken sliders. Their tenders are far too big for the smooth and buttery buns to completely cover, and they provide more than enough of their signature Dave's sauce to drench the slider in. I loved the coleslaw as well because it supported the chicken's flagrant flavor rather than overpower it. Been wanting to try this place for a while now. And finally decided to do it. Parking is free for 2 hours in a garage on the other side of Rice Village on Morningside Dr just south of Times Blvd. But a bit of a walk. It was nice outside though so I didn't mind. Seemed to get a lot of rice students and they give a discount to them (15% I believe). Do a checkin on Yelp and you'll get a free soda or shake. Went for the chocolate shake. Did enjoy eating here. Cute interior, though a bit crowded. Not the fault of the servers, who were great :). Came to this location because the other was packed, so tbh i cannot complain too much. Recommend !

Great chicken and the spice delivered! Came by right after work for a meal that would warm me up on a cooler night this Fall, and was pleasantly surprised. Tenders are on the larger size compared to average. Slider with pickles, Dave's sauce, and a tender inside. The chicken itself was incredibly juicy and tender. Deep fried of course, but felt light.
