TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Freakin' tasty chicken, love love love the potato roll with the sliders and generous helping of pickles. Has become a go-to place in the hood; my only issue is that the chicken tends toward the stringy rather than juicy. So close to perfection- but in the race for perfection, they still create excellence.

Had I reviewed Dave's Hot Chicken earlier, I would've granted 4 stars. However, they've recently removed cauliflower as an alternative to chicken. As such, while their chicken is quite good, and the spice level options are beyond compare...the lack of a vegetarian option means they've become just another chicken outlet, no longer a destination.
