I visited with Dr. Musante for a second opinion regarding neck and shoulder pain and he was fantastic. His dual background in both Ortho and Neuro were particularly helpful for my issues. I would highly recommend him.

I had spinal stenosis with spondylolisthesis, herniated discs and sciatica nerve issues for over 13 years. I'm 70 years old and was apprehensive about surgery but decided it's better now as I'm not getting any younger. Dr. Musante fused my vertebrae and performed a laminectomy on 4 vertebrae in 9/20. My results were amazing. I was able to walk up to 4 miles/day when I returned for my post-op. He was very professional, very detailed explaining my condition to me and very caring about his patients. I saw Dr. Musante because I was suffering from back pain. When I went back after MRI and injection, I was in even worse pain than previously, having to shuffle to walk, rather than pick my feet up as normally and finding it was excruciating to even get on and off the toilet, into the car seat, etc. Because of the degree of stenosis present, surgery (or living with it.....yeah, right!) was really my only option. Dr. David Musante, Neck & Spine Specialist, EmergeOrtho, Raleigh, NC explained my MRI results to me in layman's terms so I immediately I understood why I was in such neck and back pain for so many years. He recommended surgery before more damage was done to my spine and the end result could possibly be confinement to a wheelchair for the rest of my life. I highly recommend Dr Musante to family, friends & public. He is very knowledgeable in his field of orthopedic spine & neck surgery. He gave me my life back when I thought my spine problems could not be corrected by surgery. I am a year out from Spinal Fusion done at NC Specialty Hosp Durham,NC. & my leg pain & weakness is gone?? I have had neck issues for years. I was in the recovery room after eye surgery and the nurse tending me mentioned her neck pain issues and she had to get an appointment. I asked her which doctor she planned to see. She immediately answered Dr. Musante. She said no one else was touching her neck. I remembered the name for future reference. I am a 66 year old female that has suffered with chronic back pain for more than 30 years.
