I am a 78 year old African-American male. I had spinal fusion back surgery on June 5,2019. Today, June 4, 2020, I was released by Dr. Musante from further visits for my surgery. I no longer use a cane , and I have had no serious pain in 6 months. I no longer use pain medication. AI highly recommend Dr. Musante as a skilled and professional physician.

Dr. Musante has been my back dr. since 2013. He did my fusion in 2014 and I have not had a problem from the fusion since then. Unfortunately, I have developed an issue at other levels with surgery pending. He has thoroughly explained the spine problems and the surgical options. He is straightforward in discussing things with you. Has a pleasant bedside manner and has been patient with my making a decision about treatment. Would recommend to anyone.
Today 12/18/2019 Dr. Musante performed surgery on my L4-L5 ruptured disk. I had immediate relief from the severe Sciatica that has affected me off and on for 10 years. His bedside manner was awesome. His professionalism was impeccable. Only incision pain remains. That should clear within a few days. Also, the care I experienced at NC Specialy Hospital was second to none. I was having serevre back pain and leg pain. Went to chiropractor three times each time it got worst. I went to see Dr. Musante. He knew right away what was wrong. He did spinal fusion with decompression in Feb.2019. I am 9 months post op and feel wonderful. He is an excellent doctor. He and his staff are awesome. I highly recommend him to anyone. Thank you Dr Mustante for giving me my life back.

After seeing several doctors at Duke without getting any answers as to why I kept losing feeling in my legs, I was referred to Dr. Musante. Within 10 minutes of examining me he diagnosed me with cervical spine issues and immediately sent me downstairs for an MRI. HE WAS RIGHT! I had 2 ruptured discs in my neck that were compressing my spinal cord. I was scheduled for surgery 5 days later. 7 months post op I am 100% pain free and I haven't felt this good in years.
