Beware...this club will take your money with a sense of urgency when you signup, but will not immediately close your account when you request to cancel your membership. I have been a loyal member for 1.5 years. When I requested to cancel my monthly membership they told me I had to pay for another 6 weeks of future dues as they could not immediately cancel my membership. The membership contract we have each member sign upon joining explains that request of termination prior to the 15th of the month will allow for membership termination at the end of the month. However, should a member terminate their membership after the 15th of that month, the member is required a 30-day notice and the membership will be terminated at the end of the following month. I frequent this place. At most I will be here 6 times a week. I have participated in various classes including yoga and cardio boxing. I've had personal training sessions. I've eaten in the cafe many times and even spent time lounging and swimming in their pools. I've pretty much used every part of this gym and I really do enjoy all of it. This place has all the amenities. The trainers and the staff are all super friendly and the spa has good stuff. a bit pricey but it is quality shit. The facility itself is OKAY with plenty of machines and decent classes. The staff on the other hand are sub par at best. The front desk staff becomes easily overwhelmed when there are more than 2 people in line and acts as if they are doing you a BIG favor by doing anything other than handing you a towel. The main manager does NOT take feedback well. She is rude and condescending. Gee, wonder where the rest of the staff get their attitudes?
Despite it's premier location, new facilities, and clientele willing to shell out the inflated membership fees, EDHSC still comes up lacking. I've come here to work out for the first five years that it was open merely because of it's proximity as well as the fact that my parents were able to pay for my fees. Still, The locker room is dirty. Lots of dust on the sauna floor. Frequent out of order equipment. To much people at the yoga class. Kids club--- Young girl staff is not monitoring, but doing own homework. My kid got suffered there. They let the children use scissors without being monitored. Danger and Not safe. I will edit this post if I see the improvement.
Great gym, but the child care is horrible! If you don't care about your kids safety, then enjoy the gym ... It is great. Unfortunately I can't enjoy all the club has to offer because I cannot leave my kids in the play center.
Gym was alright. Not enough equipment. Dark and the atmosphere isn't where it should be for a gym. Should have lights music going and smiling staff. Its all about Cal Fit in Folsom.
At a Basic level this facility falls very short. I have been a member of this gym for a few years and just recently canceled my membership for two reasons. 1. I have been not going, prioritizing work over exercise... 2. When I did go, the experience and value was not there to justify the costs. My opinion, this facility was "spotless, new, hip and the IT place" when it opened over 5 years ago. We were members for a few months and found the staff not very friendly nor helpful to us new gym folks. We canceled our membership by email. They continued billing us as they said our email was not "signed!" They have sent us to collections even though we gave the required 30 day notice. Stay away... Dissatisfied customer
