This is a scam! If your dog has had any visit to the vet/ they will find a way to connect any condition and say it is preexisting

Dear **friends, My pet insurance with Pet Embrace was cancelled due to an error on their part and now they are not wanting to re-instate the policy. See, my mom has always had Embrace and never missed a payment in 12+ years. She had me and Ella for 11 years and never had any issues. In May she received an email stating the card didn’t go thru and changed it. Then in August they stated it didn’t go thru and had it changed again. I had a X-rays and an ultrasound done in October and when she did not receive reimbursement by Dec... read more

Business response:

Hi *****, I am so sorry we weren't able to reinstate your policy, we appealed to our underwriters and did everything we could. We have a two day reinstatement period after a policy is cancelled, and since it had been five months since your cancellation, they weren't able to make an exception. We might have had a chance if it had just been a month, or if there was an attempt to update billing in the five months that the policy was cancelled, but unfortunately, we got a solid no when we asked. Embrace is horrible. I don't recommend them. My dog was diagnosed with luxating patella when I first brought her into the vet for the evaluation for embrace. Since then she has torn her ACL and now Embrace is telling me they won't cover the ACL surgery. Two different diagnosis. Go elsewhere. Embrace does not care about your pet and they will look for any excuse not to cover them

Business response:

This situation is currently under review via appeal. We’re working closely with this Pet Parent and hope to resolve the situation through the appeals process in the best possible way. The pet parent is working with her veterinarian to obtain additional information. She said she appreciates that we are taking another look at all of the information in order to make the most accurate decision possible regarding coverage.

I adopted/rescued a 3-year old dog from the local pound last year. She was ill kept and malnourished. She was treated for a UTI and our VET said it was from not being taken care of. Unfortunately, we didn't like how the vet was treating this poor sweet dog who has already not had a nice life... so we switched to a wonderful vet practice who followed up on the original UTI. I submitted a claim and it was denied because the UTI was there before we purchased an insurance policy. We were told this was a temporary exclusion and t... read more

Business response:

Hi Steven, I’m so sorry you aren’t happy with Embrace, but the vet notes show a different timeline than the one you reported here. Here’s what we have according to the vet notes: Prepolicy diagnosis of hematuria 4/17 (prior to adoption) 10/9/17 hematuria 10/11/17 crystalluria 10/16/17- UTI 11/22/17 - Was on CD (prescription food) for recurring UTI with struvite crystals. 10/22/18 - UTI 10/27/18 Clavamox for UTI Hematuria and Crystalluria are both clinical signs of a UTI or an underlying urinary issue, and the longest period ... read more

I spent about a month and a half trying to get my claims covered even though the website clearly states it typically takes 10-14 days. I spoke to them maybe 20 times within this time period to try to get things taken care of and they always said we’re doing it now or we’ve contacted the vet yet my vet said they weren’t contacted at all. By the time everything finally got done a huge portion of normal ailments for cats were labeled as preexisting conditions (including nausea and constipation!!! And they won’t cover his bladde... read more

Business response:

Hi Rebecca, I’m sorry you had a bad experience – normally claims take 10-15 business days, but in this case, we had trouble getting the information we needed from your vet. Once we have all the history for the first claim, submitted claims after that go much faster. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to cover preexisting conditions. We try to make that as clear as possible throughout the policy purchase experience, and it’s in the policy terms that you agree to when you purchase online. At this time, no pet insurance company can ... read more

I am more than disappointed. Unprofessional staff that do not answer and call you back. When asked for a refund the charged me additionally. They do not cover claims and it takes them weeks to process a claim if there is one. I would highly recommend not using this pet insurance company.

Business response:

Hi ****, I took a look at your policy, and I can only see that all of your interactions were handled within one business day, including the call review Diedre did for you. I’m sorry that we aren’t able to cover preexisting conditions, at this time, no pet insurance company does. I know that isn’t ideal when you have a pet with a preexisting issue.

NO STARS JUST HAD TO PRESS ATLEAST ONE....TAKING ADVANTAGE OF SERVICE MEMBERS We paid them over $2500 each year to only submit claims much less than that to be covered, since 2015!!!! Yes, I should of cancelled sooner. That is over 8K that they received from us!!!! Dont do it. If you do the numbers correctly unless you are spending over $200 a month for care there is no benefit in having this. Save your money and don't pay into their services my coverage included the wellness and the 90% reimbursement. Please learn from my m... read more

Year 1, premium was $ 555.7 Year 2, $690.32 Year 3. $1241.39 The main excuse of what is almost 100% increase is the state of Maryland. Does any body know of a legislation in Maryland that would authorized pet insurance from another state to double premiums?

Do not buy this insurance; I think it could be a scam. I took out pet insurance in December of 2016. I originally signed up with a well known company named ******** ****** **** ********* ********but some how ended up with a contract issued by a company I never heard of: Embrace Pet Insurance, policy #******-****. It appears Embrace Pet Insurance bought my contract from ******** ****** **** ********* ********Worse yet I NEVER RECEIVED A POLICY from either one of these two companies even though my credit card has been billed e... read more

Business response:

Hi ***, I’m sorry for any confusion – we have never purchased any policies from other companies, and we have always been Embrace Pet Insurance. I see in your record that you purchased your policy on our website, responded to our emails when you initially purchased the policy, you acknowledged receipt of all of the policy information, and you even answered some questions we asked. When you purchased online, you chose a deductible of $500, and your covered charges never added up to that amount, which is why you haven’t seen an... read more
