I only give Embrace one star because I have to. Zero stars would be more appropriate because this is a scam. I had a policy that I paid monthly premiums of $50 a month for 18 months. This policy did not cover preventative care which I thought was quite expensive but I stuck with it. When my dog had a back injury, Embrace would not pay $120 claim because they wanted all of the vet notes on the dog since I adopted him. The vet told me they provided the notes, Embrace said the vet did not provide the notes. It was on me to foll... read more

Hello, I apologize for the frustrations with your Embrace policy. I did look at Malone’s policy and the claim from 11/2/21 has been set to pending as we have to review his medical records. Multiple requests were sent to Priority Pet Hospital and we have yet to receive these records. Once we are able to review his records, we can move forward with processing his claim. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us directly. Sincerely, Steffani ******, RVT Senior Lead Claims Adjuster

We had *** *** ******** **** **********for 5 years and they were great. Never had a problem with them. Last June when the policy came up for renewal, I changed to Embrace because they were associated with **** with whom I have been with for over 50 years. Big mistake. Embrace has a 6-month orthopedic waiting period. The dog fell down the stairs and sprained her leg 11 days short of the 6-month waiting period. I did not expect them to pay for it and they did not pay. Embrace now said I have to wait a YEAR from the date of the... read more

Worst pet insurance ever. Hardly worth it. They didn't cover my dog's neuter under the regular pet insurance but under another benefit of wellness. Everything was covered under wellness, an additional add-on benefit. I ended up paying them $90 a month and then wellness was tapped out on regular things like shots before my dog's neuter came up. I ended up cancelling with them after the neuter and they sent me a bill for the rest of the year... for the next 6 months of wellness. They sent me an email saying I could pay in one ... read more

Business response:

Hello, I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your policy. The Wellness Rewards program is for reimbursement for preventative procedures and items that you are eligible to receive a reimbursement on. This is a separate program and is not an insurance policy, so you pay a monthly amount each month over the span of 12 months. It helps so you are not paying for one lump sum when going to the vet. Coco had a Wellness plan of $650, which meant you would split those payments up over the 12 months. When you called to ca... read more

Any positive reviews about Embrace must be fabricated, in my opinion, so I caution you. I'll share my experience that led to me deciding to cancel my policy. I've submitted 6 claims in the past 3 years for my sweet little rescue dog, Eddie, now a senior miniature schnauzer. He was close to death when I got him (from abuse and neglect) and needed extensive medical care, which I gladly paid for at the time. I eventually got this policy thinking it would help pay for his long-term needs going forward such as his necessary eye a... read more

Business response:

Hello, I apologize for the delay in processing of your claims. Unfortunately, there were multiple veterinary hospital where medical records were needed to be obtained from and we were unable to complete the medical history review until all of the records were received. His medical history review has been completed and his claims are in line to be processed. Unfortunately, the abdominal mass you mentioned will not be eligible for coverage as it was noted during the 14-day illness waiting period. If you have any questions rega... read more

Charged more than expected. I was told $22.52 after taxes $23.52. When I paid with my credit card I was unaware of a activation fee? I didn’t buy a phone service or internet? What possibly could be a activation fee? The fee was$25.00 and more than the insurance? The total was $48.52 and I called the next day to cancel and to get my money back. Tiffany told me on 12/27/21 I would get a full refund. I have yet to receive it or any inclination that I will. I would not have purchased in the first place if I were aware of the act... read more

Business response:

Hello, I apologize that you were not satisfied with your Embrace policy. When a quote is made on a policy through the website, it explains your total per month as well as the total due the day of which includes the $25 activation fee. The activation fee is included with the purchase of every policy, it is not associated with any reviews or the optional gifts for the representative you spoke with. Your refund was issued after the policy was cancelled. If you have any additional questions, please let us know! Sincerely, Steffa... read more

I pay around $80 per month for the last 1.5 years. Supposedly according to their Claim Form vaccines, tests, preventative meds, supplements & grooming are part of their "Wellness" rewards. I took my dog to the vet and he was given his vaccinations, plus an allergy test & shot for his allergies (both were $100). They said they wouldn't pay for this nor did they pay for any other part of his visit ($291 total). I should have realized this the first time I took him to the groomer (Grooming Tails) & they asked for an itemized re... read more

Business response:

Hello! I apologize for any confusion there has been with your policy. The claim you are referring to with the allergy injections, actually had a reimbursement under the Wellness Rewards program. The items related to his allergy injections were not eligible for coverage due to a pre-existing condition, but the remainder of the claim was reimbursed under the Wellness Rewards program. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Sincerely, Steffani ******, RVT Senior Lead Claims Adjuster

We rescued a barn kitten who is under 3 months old. At first the kitten fell very sick due to worms, diarrhea and dehydration, and we had to take her to the hospital. All the vets were booked for months, so we could not get nor could we afford to wait for a regular vet appointment. After spending $4000+ on her treatment, the insurance denied all the claims related to the hospital visit, and anything that has happened since then, quoting it's "pre-existing because it happened prior to a vet checkup". When we finally got her a... read more

Business response:

Hello! I apologize for the confusion with your account. When a policy is first purchased, it is explained that there is a 14-day illness waiting period, so anything that occurs within 12 months prior to the policy purchase or within the waiting period are not eligible for coverage and are pre-existing. The claim you referenced was for hospitalization that began on the day your policy started, which falls within the 14-day illness waiting period and not eligible for coverage. If you have any additional questions, please let u... read more

I am a fool. I completely fell for those ads by Embrace Pet Insurance that showed happy "customers" stating "Embrace Pet Insurance covered my dog's accident/surgery." I did not look up their actual clients. Their actual real life reviews. Their real life practices. Their real life customer satisfaction. Please read their reviews on Better Business Bureau & Yelp. If I had only read them, I would not be in the situation I am today. Being a real life Embrace Pet Insurance customer with imaginary coverage. If you are reading the... read more

I have been a client of Embrace Insurance just over 8 months and had to use the insurance for a broken front elbow on my 5 year old Boykin Spaniel. I cannot express how smoothly this experience went for me. I opted to not have the orthopedic screening that was available to shorten the wait time for orthopedic coverage and luckily *** waited for just over the 6 months to break his leg. After looking at this site, I was afraid that I would absolutely run into some horrible problem during the claims procedure, but instead I fou... read more
