This company is a joke. ALL dermatological conditions are "pre-existing," so since my dog was treated for allergies within 12 months, his ear infection wasn't covered. It took them 2 months to process my claim only to deny because of this. I cancelled coverage and requested a refund for the last two months as well since I waited that long for the response, and they wouldn't oblige. Bad business, bad coverage, waste of money. Just pay your vet when you need. Don't waste your time and money here.
Business response:
Hello, I am sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your Embrace policy. When a policy is first purchased there is a 14-day illness waiting period, which means that any abnormalities noted from 12 months prior to the policy start date until the end of the 14-day illness waiting period are listed as pre-existing. Once the end of the 14-day illness waiting period is reached, there is an email sent out stating that a medical history review can be requested to determine what will be pre-existing, if a medical history revi... read more
BUYER BEWARE! Embrace is not the same company they once were. They used to be awesome - but not anymore. Due to recent issues even my veterinarian is not willing to recommend them further. Embrace will find any technicality to exclude anything from the policy, especially if it is a long term care issue. In our case, cancer. They weaseled their way out of the policy. We have multiple cats on our policy. We adopted a cat in March of 2020. Due to COVID, we did not enroll one of them until May. We submitted all of the paperwork ... read more

Hello, I am sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with your Embrace policy. When a policy is first purchased, there is a 14-day illness waiting period and any abnormalities that are notes prior to this waiting period are listed as pre-existing. ******’s policy went into effect on 5/20/20, which means his 14-day illness waiting period ended 6/4/20. In ******’s recent medical history at **********e Animal Hospital, it was noted that his two masses were first noticed in February which was prior to the policy start date. As *... read more
This company is an absolute fraud and scam. We signed up under the recommendation of a few friends and they are ALL now considering canceling their policies with this company based on our experience. Our cat was diagnosed with heart disease almost 6 months AFTER we signed up. They tried to claim that this was a pre-existing condition. However, the two SPECIALISTS our cat has seen have both written letters based on their existence medical expertise/experience that there was no way our cat could have had heart disease in June ... read more
Typical insurance company! They would look for any smallest reason to deny your claim. That's just their business model. I guess all the insurances are like that, so just save some cash for your pets in case of emergency. They've been denying my claims over and over again and then making a permanent exclusion. Just makes me really mad!
Business response:
Hello, I am sorry to hear that you have been disappointed with your Embrace policy. I did take a look at your policy and your previous claims for ******. After looking at ********claims, it appears that he had a dermatological condition as a pre-existing that was noted prior to the policy start. His pre-existing dermatological condition was later diagnosed as allergies, which made it a permanent exclusion under his policy. In order for a temporary condition to possibly be eligible for expiration, a pet has to remain free of ... read more
DO NOT PURCHASE. I have had a policy for 2 years. I submitted a covered claim they took so long in processing and then said I was late in submitting which is an absolute lie. They have denied paying the covered claim!
Business response:
Hello! I am sorry to hear that you have no been happy with your Embrace policy. I did take a look at your policy and it seems that the delay in processing your claim was due to medical history we were waiting on. Now that Belle’s medical records have been reviewed, any future claims should be processed in the normal processing timeframe of 10-14 business days. As far as the claim that was listed as late, it is our policy that when a policy renews, you have 60 days to submit any claims for the previous term. This is listed in... read more
Do not, under any circumstance get embrace pet insurance. They refuse to cover anything regardless of what the claim is for and find any excuse to disqualify the claim. I have been waiting on them to process a claim since july. They keep claiming that they are waiting on the vet's office to send the information they need. Surprisingly, I called the vet's office and I was told that they sent all the information requested a couple months ago. To make matters worse, the vet's office informed me that they sent the information tw... read more
Buyer Beware! Do NOT sign up for this policy unless you have a young dog with no health issues and a vet has verified that in the last 12 months. Ensure that every inch of your pet has been inspected, and never let your insurance lapse, or anything which did develop in the meantime which hasn't led to treatment will rule out future coverages. Did you know that vet-certified non-cancerous skin tags are considered a pre-cursor for cancer? My insurance lapsed for 3 months last year due to financial hardship, and now none of my ... read more

Hello, I am sorry to hear that you have not been satisfied with your Embrace policy for your pets. Unfortunately, when a policy is cancelled and later reinstated, we do have to review a pet’s medical records to determine if there are any pre-existing conditions as a new policy has been started. When reviewing medical records, we review any exam notes from 12 months prior to the policy start date and any abnormalities are listed as pre-existing conditions. The skin tags that were listed as pre-existing for your pet under your... read more
Please stay away from this company. They are scam artists and they take advantage of people that are animal lovers. Unfortunately I am out over a $1000 in premiums before i woke up to their fraud and cancelled my policy. They are very smart. They gave me an option for a pre medical review before signing up and all my three dogs passed their medical review. One year later i submitted a $35 claim for one of my dogs and boy did they put me through the ringer. I know the amount is small but I thought it would apply toward my ann... read more
This Company is not a good choice for pet insurance. I highly recommend you look elsewhere for reliable service. Here is my experience: I lost a baby bulldog in June of this year, he died from complications of a hypoplastic trachea when he got pneumonia. There was no way to have known prior to his diagnosis that he had a hypoplastic trachea. Due to this extreme tragedy our family suffered, when the breeder replaced our beloved pup with a new one in July ( this new pup came from the same breeder but NOT the same litter) we we... read more
