Extended stay in Alameda Dont stay here because the fire alarm will go off in the middle of the night. I am a grad student and I, as well as other classmates on separate occasions, have had to stay in Alameda and we have stayed at this extended stay hotel location. At least 3 others than myself have all had their sleep interrupted by fire alarms the night before class, all on separate occasions. No hotel staff were present to direct traffic, instruct us to evacuate, or to indicate when it was safe to return to our rooms. Ter... read more

Bad, bad, bad This is the fourth time we have stayed at the Extended Stay-Alameda. This by far was the worst time. We had a view of the overhang of the front entrance. Apparently they have downsized their TV's and they are about 19" in size. Very hard to see when placed on a low set of drawers--impossible from a king bed. Hair all over the bathroom and no toilet paper. Dishes were dirty and no soap to clean them (had always been soap the times before). When I called down for toilet paper, I had to get dressed and go down mys... read more

If you like sleeping on the floor... While otherwise a decent hotel for the money, the bed was as hard as the floor. I struggled to get a good night's sleep, but it was impossible. Hard. As. A. Rock. If you like hard beds, then by all means, it's not a bad place. However if you're used to not waking up with a bruised spine, you may want to seek softer accommodations.

Terrible experience! The room was very spacious, which was pointless because there was nowhere to sit other than on the bed, room appeared empty for being a "residence" inn. The floor was disgusting with foot-long burns in the carpet and stains of god knows what all over. I refused to walk barefoot in the room. Bed felt like a big wooden platform with a mat covering, with no give to it or any cushion. There were NO hairdryer or any toiletries other than a tiny bar of soap, but luckily we took our own. Two flat pillows that h... read more

Extended Stay America Oakland-Alameda Unpleasant experience The room had an awful smell. After turning on fans, opening windows, it did not go away. Tried to get another room, but was handed a can of aerosol spray instead. Do not recommend. It was a horrible experience.

I guess you get what you pay for. A pretty out-dated and SMELLY room. I can understand it being out-dated due to the price...but not the smelliness.
