Peaceful location, not far from downtown Oakland I had an early meeting in Oakland, and I wanted to be close but not right in the city. The hotel was very quiet, and convenient to Mariners Square. There is a nice harbor-side walkway with beautiful views of the estuary.

Cheap for a reason The location was great, but this hotel only cleans rooms once every 8 days, so my room never got cleaned for the entirety of my 4 night stay. Had I known about this policy, I might have stayed somewhere else.

Quick get away The room was fine. Hotel was having renovations done so the lobby had the men working on ladders making a mess on the carpet, but it was OK. Bed was comfy. Room had full kitchen but no utensils??? Not even a coffee pot unless you asked for it. Kinda strange. You would think there would be a few plates, coffee cups, a fork! Like a timeshare. Minimal continental breakfast in the AM. Overall rating 3+ The price was right!

Lobby was uninviting. One sofa, coffee table and TV, in need of interior decorating. A washer/dryer was in the middle of lobby. Cigarette butt in elevator, 4th floor smelled of cigarette smoke.

I checked in and staff was great. My room had a great view and I was content. Who doesn't like great amenities like a kitchen and a stove? Around 2 in the morning, I was awoken by the upstairs people pounding the floor. At 3, people sneaking through the halls. Didn't get much sleep. Wonderful Marina View Deal Everything was great! Got a super good deal of $105 per night for King room. We were given a third floor room overlooking the marina which was gorgeous. I would definitely request a third or fourth floor room on this side since it borders a walking path that sees a lot of activity. If you like to have your windows open, still have some quiet, and not have people looking in then that's the way to go.

We did not get the room we requested on hotels.com-it is suggested to always call hotel for any request to confirm you will get what you requested. On the plus side the bed was very comfortable! And it's right next to a Starbucks!
