If I could give Marisol and her staff more than 5 stars, I would!! Marisol (General Manager) is an incredibly professional and consistent, and is amazing at what she does, which explains why she is the boss!! As a business professional myself, I admire and respect Extended Stay, and will definitely be using them moving forward if there is one available in the area I travel to….sorry Airbnb! The worst. I was displaced from my apt temporarily with my special needs toddler. I didn’t read reviews needed location to be close to his school. The first room smelt like smoke and the hallway down stairs has a foul stench. Dog hair and dust everywhere. The front Desk man Rafek told me I could go somewhere else when I knew my manager paid a week. Told them how filthy the room was and showed them rags I used and they gave me a broom. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. I've have never had any problems or inconvenience stay here. Tucked away on a quiet street and walking distance to to Carlsbad village. When in town I always stay here due to friendly helpful staff and location is close to town as well. Would highly recommend staying here if visiting Carlsbad

Booked a room for my father for 2 weeks at this hotel while we were looking for local apartments. The front staff was obviously new, not trained properly and rude. The shower leaked in the first room with a paint smell. We asked maintenance to fix but they never came. There is constant renovation going on with hammering and it is not relaxing. You have to request dishes, etc for your room and they repeatedly told us there was no coffee pots left. Overall, I would not recommend. People want to feel like they are on vacation n... read more

I booked a room here for a night. Paid online however once I arrived in Carlsbad I received a call from the hotel saying sorry they over booked by 10 rooms so they have to cancel my reservation. I said by 10? I paid for my room already. The guy apologized for any inconvenience and unfortunately he was the one who gets stuck having to make these calls. I'm glad he did call me before going to the actual hotel and before I had the opportunity to cancel online but what an inconvenience. Still need to check my account to make s... read more
