Ok for a night Room was well used but clean. Needs renovated.

Extended Stay Hotel In Newport News, VA Since I was there to visit family in the area, it was really only a place sleep for each night. My stay was OK with one exception, see below about nimprovemwnts.

Bathroom The room was very nice, the bathroom could have been cleaned up a lot better.

The hotel soured my trip I was very disappointed in this hotel as it did not come close to meeting my expectations based upon my previous view of the Extended Stay America brand. There was a lady who appeared to live there as she was very comfortable lounging with the front desk lady as her full grown pit bull walked loose around the lobby. There were a whole cast of shady looking characters that roamed in and around the hotel. Good value but unaddressed issues Nice even though dated but... mattress in pullout sofa was filthy, oven had 3 foil papers that were caked w/ grease, bedskirt was ripped, wallpaper falling off, stairwell to hallway was missing door knob, breakfast consisted of a Nature Valley granola bar and grits (that's it). Staff was friendly but even though we stayed for 3 days and were pleasant about the room's shortcomings, they refused to allow a late checkout of 1 hr - even w/ their policy of early checkout (11am). Smoker paradise This hotel smells like people are smoking constantly. The hall, the room, the elevator, all smell so strongly of smoke you can taste it. It was gross. All of the rooms said not smoking but I think that was just to taunt me.

Hotel needs to focus Room was spacious and good for extended stay. Hotel lost reservations but made accommodation for stay. Due to weather, I checked in after hours and room was not ready for guest. Worked out issues the next morning, but room was still not cleaned that day prior to my arrival that following evening. Rooms need some renovations. While I understand the weather was not normal for the area, the parking lot still should have been cleaned as the ice made it difficult to get out in the morning without getting push... read more

terrible - booking made two weeks in advance with type of room option - not available at check-in day reason given 1st come 1st served, kitchen did not have plates and cutlery or coffee maker - you had to ask for them to get them. dishes were dirty. Hairs all over comforter and bathroom floor
