Hotel did not record reservation When we arrived, the desk clerk could not find our reservation which was made through Expedia. I showed him the confirmation and he eventually found it on the motel's e-mail which did not get to their reservation listing. I requested a double room. I was told there was a room with 1 bed and a pull out couch. I explained to the clerk the need for a double room and that I did not want to sleep on a pull out coach. Gave our room away I booked my room earlier in the day. We got a later than expected start . We arrived at the hotel approximately 12:04 a.m., just shortly after midnight. When I entered to check in, you had to use a telephone to contact anyone, as the office was closed. The guy that answered said he knew exactly who I was, and he had given our room away. Worst Hotel Experience ever When we arrived we were told that we did have a reservation, but they could not honor the price given by Expedia because they were not a certified distribution channel and they should not have allowed the reservation. They gave us another price that was sightly higher and told us that they had a room and we were confirmed, but we would need to come back at 3:00 p.m., as that was their checkin time. Overcharged! It was a soccer tournament weekend. All hotels were booked so I was stuck paying more than my quoted price. I had made reservations through Expedia. When I checked in I was told it would be an additional $40/night. I contacted Expedia & I was told that they did not guarantee any rate since I was paying at the hotel. Hotel said Expedia does this all the time & it was not their problem.
