Let me start by saying I have banked here for over 20 years, when it was Metro Credit Union, I have had a couple loans which were always paid on time and in full, I use both checking and savings accounts as well as many family members. Your institution is horrible! We are long time customers who met with one of your financial advisors, who was very condescending, and did nothing for us! Also due to emergent conditions we fell short in checking acct. And you took over 400 dollars of my hard earned money in fees. After writing a letter and an additional appeal letter you again did NOTHING! Not even one fee returned! And you care about your customers??? I think not! Marie lorincz

Extra Credit Union is AWESOME BUT, Something needs to be done with how TERRIBLE the wait time is to be seen by a representative when you visit the locations.

Simply Put.....I Love My Credit Union
I have been a member of Extra Credit for well over 10 years (since it was Metro Credit Union) and have always had great experiences....... Until now, I applied for a loan 7 days ago and have heard from someone once (on day 6). When I have called to talk to the person handling my loan I leave voicemails with no return phone calls. I feel that this is an unacceptable time frame to get any information, I have had many loans processed over my time here and never has it taken more than 2 days. don't believe everything they say. They state they help anyone get a loan, not true I tried for a loan and was decline. I believe the reason why is I am not a member, even though I told them I would join. When the rep pulled my credit she said she did not see anything that bad on my report but yet I was declined. Oh well they lost my business, to bad because I was going to switch to them for my direct deposit.

We do our best to help our members and potential members with loans when they need them, however, there are criteria that must be met for approval, which includes credit, in addition to other items. This bank has the right mentality to help those in bad financial standing but has poor execution. They don't communicate or followup on loan decisions to know if you are approved. They also do not value confidentiality and listen well to collect and give information to the underwriters. On October 6,2017 I came into the sterling heights location to close on a loan with Amanda work. she was a horrible rep to work with I recommend you work with someone else. she insisted my last name was spelled incorrectly after telling her my last name was Thoms instead of Thomas several times she still wrote Thomas on the paperwork and also tried to argue with me about it. she also harassed me about changing my reviews online so she wouldn't lose her job she made me feel if I didn't I wouldn't get approve for the loan when... read more
after going in with my fiancé to ECU I wanted to apply for a loan with Amanda Work who told me to contact her at a later date. which did after leaving several messages on her voice mail for weeks I still didn't get a response in a month and a half very horrible customer service and I feel she was not attentive to my concerns of building my credit. also calling customer service it's like waiting at a bad restaurant who doesn't care about their speedy or quality.
