I have been a member of Extra Credit for well over 10 years (since it was Metro Credit Union) and have always had great experiences....... Until now, I applied for a loan 7 days ago and have heard from someone once (on day 6). When I have called to talk to the person handling my loan I leave voicemails with no return phone calls. I feel that this is an unacceptable time frame to get any information, I have had many loans processed over my time here and never has it taken more than 2 days. don't believe everything they say. They state they help anyone get a loan, not true I tried for a loan and was decline. I believe the reason why is I am not a member, even though I told them I would join. When the rep pulled my credit she said she did not see anything that bad on my report but yet I was declined. Oh well they lost my business, to bad because I was going to switch to them for my direct deposit.

This bank has the right mentality to help those in bad financial standing but has poor execution. They don't communicate or followup on loan decisions to know if you are approved. They also do not value confidentiality and listen well to collect and give information to the underwriters. They disclosed my fiance information to me when I mentioned that my fiance got approved for a certain amount of money where we make close to the same amount to be approve for the same amount and has the same credit score as me. On October 6,2017 I came into the sterling heights location to close on a loan with Amanda work. she was a horrible rep to work with I recommend you work with someone else. she insisted my last name was spelled incorrectly after telling her my last name was Thoms instead of Thomas several times she still wrote Thomas on the paperwork and also tried to argue with me about it. she also harassed me about changing my reviews online so she wouldn't lose her job she made me feel if I didn't I wouldn't get approve for the loan when... read more

after going in with my fiancé to ECU I wanted to apply for a loan with Amanda Work who told me to contact her at a later date. which did after leaving several messages on her voice mail for weeks I still didn't get a response in a month and a half very horrible customer service and I feel she was not attentive to my concerns of building my credit. also calling customer service it's like waiting at a bad restaurant who doesn't care about their speedy or quality.

Absolutely horrible. Loan officer was super rude every time I talked with her. I went and picked out a vehicle and came to her with my purchase agreement and she told me I had to wait because she was too busy and that not to call, she would call me when I can come in. I am now a week without a vehicle. I've been a member for several years, thinking about closing my account because of this issue.

I decided I would explore my options for a debt shed loan beyond a first offer I received. I inquired online and submitted application and it said someone would be calling me shortly. This was Thursday morning June 29th it is now July 21st. No one contacted me the entire day, Friday I emailed inquiring my status. I was given my loan officers name Amanda Shaw, and said she would be contacting me that day. Nothing...Saturday I emailed again and nothing. Ive applied for a loan sent in all paper work called and left messages and no one has emailed me or called me back. I'm a disabled veteran.i was told i would be contacted within a day it's been 4 days and I'm being ignored.
