I've been renting here for about a year and a half and they haven't had a functioning elevator for months. There's a sign up saying that service has been stopped indefinitely. I think this place has 8 floors. Have a refrigerator you need to move to the 8th floor? In theory they have movers who will do it, but they're only available on certain days of the week and are always booked. This was the most terrible storage. First of all, there's no elevator. Second of all, the stairs and hallways are very narrow. This storage looks more like decorations for some horror movie. And there's always some terrible sounds. Maybe it's just a preraration for Halloween. There were many characters for Halloween without make up. HORRIBLE. I DON'T RECOMEND!
This has to do with the company itself. I got my storage in September 2015 then when 2016 came in they raise my price by 40 dollars! I get that it goes up but not when I just signed the contract I would understand when I had completed my year. Sadly I need the place and will have to continue paying 250 dollars.
The employees are not bad the facility is. Here are a list of reasons why I cannot recommend this facility to anyone. 1) With one working freight elevator that must be operated by an employee things get a little frustrating when only one employee is working. 2) I've had a unit here for about 7 months and seen the monthly rent increase 3 times. They give about 1 months notice before the increase occurs but I now pay $30 more than when I initially signed on. 3) The hours of operation stink. The facility is only open durin... read more
The staff here is extremely rude here and the elevator is broken most of the time. The large woman at the front desk told my aunt she was interrupting her call which is absurd since we could not find an employee to help us for 10 minutes. Would not recommend leaving your stuff here ever. Also appears that some people are living from the storage units which is quite suspicious. I would leave zero stars if it were possible for this storage facility.

Extra Space Storage on Pico is a really inconvenient facility. I might just be saying that because I've been spoiled by Public Storage, where I formerly had a unit. I sublet a unit here from a friend because I needed space to store some film equipment, so I can't comment on the signup or billing experience. The lobby doesn't have an automatic door so it needs to be propped open anytime you move anything in or out. Thankfully there are usually traffic cones nearby that can accomplish this. Very unsatisfactory move-in experience at this location. On a weekday morning, we spent over 2 hrs. (30 min of which for actual moving in) either activating the access code (which still doesn't work), finding the reserved locker or waiting around. When the on-site staff couldn't find the locker and in turn called the facility manager, his cell was disconnected. This place, or, probably the company, is running a total scam. What they don't tell you when you take all the time, money and energy to move all of your things in here is that they raise your rent after 5 months, and then again 9 months later. I'm paying 24% more than I was a year ago. They didn't tell me that they were going to just steal from me like that. If you value your possessions, your sanity, and/or your dignity, do NOT, under any circumstances store your belongings here! The staff have all been categorically disrespectful, rude, incompetent, and unprofessional in the most extreme senses of all of those. I have been lied to - about the space itself, the elevators in the building, and the actual cost of service.
