I really appreciate the workers help here, they did wonderful job here! BUT the Extra Space company super sucks, they sent out rate raise letter within 5 months after you sign the contact, and they said if you don't agree with that you can move out, WTF plan is this?

They do raise the rates after 4 months. You need to ask a lot of questions. Like the first month, FREE is only good for you if you plan on staying there less than 3 months. The price per month is a lot less if you don't take the first-month free deal. It is better only if you stay longer. My rates are too high. I also don't like that they make you pay for insurance and an extra $15 a month depending on how much your stuff is worth. If you can get insurance to insure your things in a storage unit? Do it. RENTER BEWARE - Your initial agreed upon rental rate may not last long. I started my rental agreement with this Extra Space location in May of this year. Rate they quoted me for a large unit was reasonable for its size. I asked if it was a promotional rate and they confirmed no, it was a normal rate. Gate hours are limited, while the web site promised 24/7 Temperature gets pretty high in summer - makes you sweat and worried about safety of what you are storing.
Update entitled: Men talking at me, Volume Infinity+1 Subtitle: Not today, not ever, Guy In response to a flood that occurred on the top floor of the building in March, where I was not eligible for insurance reimbursement on ANY of my stored items $200 a month for 5x10 space. Words cannot express what a horrible facility this is. Beside the fact that the owners aggressively raise the rent of your unit $10.00+ each year without fail, the facility is not maintained. I have a third-floor unit. The elevator has been broken for over two weeks, with no repair date in sight. There is a byzantine series of paper notices with arrows posted outside directing us to walk around the facility, down a long narrow walkway, to an obscure set of stairs. Avoid. Unfriendly and unprofessional stuff as I say you can not find empathy in their personality on top they are rat poops everywhere as my friend stated.
RATS! Yup, rats got our stuff and they've done nothing about it. After moving cross-country, we had all our stuff in storage here for about 4 months while we found a place to live. We went to get a few things about 2 months in, and no problems. But when we went back with movers to finally move out, half of our boxes had been chewed through and there were RAT FECES AND URINE covering most of our stuff. I originally rented a medium sized unit here in 2009. The rent was under $100/month. Each year they raise my rent $10-$12 per month. I have just received the latest rent increase notice. I am now to pay $163 per month. This is outrageous greed. I will pack my things, and move to a new storage company a little further from my home. I do not plan to continue to be a victim.
