The people are nice here. But here a few years and like clockwork every year they raise my monthly price by $10 for no apparent reason. Just watch out for that initial low price to get you in and then they gauge you more and more every year. (And they try to get you on the insurance thing too which other Yelpers mentioned.) I used to be at another large storage company for many years and they kept their prices the same for all the years. Bottom line: Disappointing.

The facility is clean and seems well taken care of, so that's a good thing. But... I contracted for a 10x5 unit, but the unit I moved into last weekend was 8x4. Lovely. Thanks for the bait-and-switch. It'll do for now, but this is not going to be long-term storage.

This place is full of lies and deception. When you visit they will tell you about the wonderful security system. What they don't tell you is they don't investigate the alarms triggered on your unit. I had about $3000 worth of belongings stolen. They said my alarm tripped a couple of times. They never once bothered to investigate. I asked why and they said we don't have time!!! No shit!!! I signed up for storage approx. 4 months ago at this facility. Upon my arrival, the manager informed me she would be able to set things up as long as it was before her lunch!? That was my first "WTF" moment with this place. She seemed off put that she had a customer in her store around 11AM and I felt like a burden. I stood up and said "don't worry, I'd like to stop. beware of regular price increases. began summer 2010 at $232/month and ended spring 2013 at $320/month. that's an $88/month increase in less than three years. company sent out a regular (about yearly) "rate change notice." that said, the facilities and the services were excellent.

I signed up with them 6 months ago. They wouldn't give me the free month that they've been advertising until I pressed and after I did, it didn't go into effect for another month or so. They also increased the rent 20% after the first 6 months. Now I have to pull my stuff out, but I will do that gladly .

1. Make sure that you get a confirmation stating unit number and actual price in writing prior to going there. They change their rates (on-the-fly). 2. Make sure that you have proof of insurance. Otherwise they charge you $10 (for $2000 coverage which is nothing). They won't even let you go home to get it. 3. Make sure that you let them know when you are moving in. Otherwise if the employee is on the break, you have to wait (you end up paying the movers - in my case).

Classic bait and switch employed here. Don't get fooled by the low rate cause once you're in your in for a surprise as they will raise your rate after just a few months - in my case 16.5%. What do you do then other than complain or move out at substantial pain and suffering. They keep raising the rent so do yourself a "self-storage" favor and go to a more honest and forthright company - there are plenty in the market!

Extra Space storage is a decent storage facility, and there's one simple reason they get a 1-star review. Once you move you things in, they start jacking up the price. I am currently paying more per month than I did when I started. They've increased the price twice on me, but the "new customer" deal on their website is less than what I pay.
