Please BEWARE! I rented a storage unit 3 months ago at Extra Storage in Cathedral City. My monthly rate increased by 30% not even 4 months into the lease. They fail to tell you that when they are almost at full capacity they can and will raise your rent to whatever they please. I understand a yearly increase, but I just spoke to the manager Elaina and she explained they raise the rent every 5 months and then every 9 months; this making it almost twice a year. like the other reviews about the manger who's been in charge about 1-- 1-5 years . she took over for Cindy the previous manager , immediately she began harassing me .. I have been in this location for about 19-12 yrs before extra space acquired it. it's been a nightmare here and she doesn't keep the place clean - used to b very clean - she's very rude - today an incident with the gate hitting my truck - she tried to force my thru - she removed sensors. they always worked prior - I was stuck in middle - if sensors worked ... read more

This place is ridiculous. Starting with the rude woman who works the front desk who believes yelling at customers is an appropriate way of working with the public. This is one of the most expensive storage facilities in the desert and it's one of the worst up kept. Peeling paint every where broken locks and gates out of order more often than they are working. I have used Extra Storage several times, but this was my worst experience ever. Constant rate increases, doubling my initial rate. When I moved out, I was told to just leave with the lock off the unit. Someone placed a few junk items in there and I was called to remove them! There was a truck rental bill a box from the people that left them behind. Terrible customer service!!

1 star- HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE it review for 36000 Cathedral Canyon Dr Cathedral City, CA. EVERYTHING HORRIBLE from the beginning. They sent keys from lock to a different address, after my arrival i had my own locks. Manager REQUESTED TO PAY for lock and thretened NOT TO CUT a lock until is paid for it, i paid around 19 $ cash, she cut the lock, i moved in with stuff. Rude, Rude Rude. The prices are astronomical and ridicules its ad if they want you to loose the storage so they can keep your items. Almost 400.00 for a single storage a month. The front desk is very rude They will do nothing to help you or go out of their way without compensation. Money hungry and greedy!! BEWARE DONT DO IT YOU JUST MIGHT LOOSE YOUR THINGS!!! WARNING!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!

While the people that work there are nice enough and the facility is relatively clean and secure, the escalation in prices over the last couple of years has been extreme and unnecessary. They are gouging. We have been with them for years, but we have had enough. If you sign up with them, beware! The owners are nothing but greedy.

Everytime I talk with someone who works there they are unbelivably unprofessional. Rude and anytime you ask a question that dont want to be bothered the only reason I have a unit is because its climate controkled and hard to find units that way. But they keep trewting me like this i will leave I dont need to pay 72 dollars a month to be treated like that. If your new dont come here.

If you are looking for storage to store your extra things in DO NOT USE Extra Space, This company is so money hunger they raise your rent up after the first 5 months and then every 8 months after that, and it's not a raise its 25% hikes at a time, they for people that are on a budget DO NOT GO TO EXTRA SPACE. they do not care about you at all. they are only MONEY HUNGRY.
