Raised the monthly rent from $55 to $116 during Covid, when I had to relocate and could not travel easily to move my items to another storage facility. Felt very exploitative.

Avoid this company at all costs. Absurdly high late fees that they will not remove even after finding out person responsible for paying them is in the hospital. Incredibly rude over the phone.

I moved in on June 2019. A 10x15 $333.After three months they raised my rent by $50. After nine months they raised it another $50. Those with a large unit are trapped because they know it will take time and money to move out to a cheaper place. I now rent a garage space 10x18 for $225 a month. I asked around and the other tenants with a smaller unit their rent was not increased. I'm updating my review. What I do not like is that every 6 months this place raises up the price. I understand the first year but I've been having my storage for three years now and they still raise up the price. I tried to negotiate but they say my only option is to move to a smaller storage, but let's be real who got time to go back there take out everything and move it to a smaller storage. The staff at this location is very rude and unprofessional. While the facility itself is reasonably good, you'd better enjoy dealing with some extremely unpleasant people if you're going to rent space here.
AVOID AT ALL COST... .this place is a ripoff. They entice you with cheap units and before you know it, you're paying double or 3 times the price. If you're late, be prepared to to pay very hefty fees that will double the amount you pay to rent the storage unit. The staff are friendly and helpful, but the place is a total and absolute ripoff ... don't use them!! AVOID AVOID AVOID THIEFS THIEFS THIEFS
If you're storing your kids' winter clothes because you live in a small apartment, then the staff is lovely. But if you're in a situation where you are deployed abroad, then beware. They do not use email to notify tenants of their status. They rely on mobile phones and the postal service. You can lose your life without knowing about it....
Avoid! Avoid!! AVOID!!! Just moved out of my unit. While unpacking at home I discovered significant water damage to a desk, a mattress, and a side table (see pictures). I of course had to throw them all away. Before leaving Extra Space I had noticed some dripping in the hallway and that one of my boxes was slightly damp on the bottom. Rip off! Your rates will go up three times in a 12 month period! Such a scam and very expensive.
