I wasn't informed when I signed the lease that the price would increase after six months. They have a clause in the agreement which says anything/any terms in the agreement can be changed with 30 days notice. You can't just jack up the price like that, after you take the trouble of storing stuff. This information is not even mentioned in the website so kind of nefarious for a well known company. The staff is fine and the manager is great. ....But I won't be a customer for long.

BEWARE! This place looks nice from the outside but that's as far as it goes. When they blow the driveway areas most of the dirt and dust ends up in your unit. I stored my belongings in sealed metal cabinets with no food stuffs being stored and to my surprise I found rodent droppings everywhere. Also I didn't notice until I moved out that the roof had been leaking. They lure you in with low initial rent but it goes up quickly and in large amounts. I rented my unit at $180.00 per month and in 2 years it past $420.00 per month.

Way too expensive. I have had this space for many years. I am at a point where I am clearing out and getting rid of most things. I will be going from a 10x20 down to a 5x10. My issue is the cost, I currently pay over $500/mo. The online prices show $221 web/$299 in store. This is absolutely insane. I have not spoken with the office to try and negotiate a better price. Thanks Jim. Like we discussed, great customer service, and a nice facility. I just don't like unreasonable price hikes, and a 25% increase (which is our new, "negotiated" rate, significantly less than the initial price hike), is still outrageous.

Jack up the rates each year by a lot. Had a break in over a year ago and their insurance that I was forced to buy at that time denied the claim. I list $2k plus worth of tools and telecom equipment. The replacement value costed me $2k plus. Cameras are useless as don't point everywhere and the Mgr would review the footage even I called the police and refused to give the footage to the police.
I have had my RV at this place for the last 6 months. Not the cheapest (& the rates have even gone up within the 6 months) but it is very hard to find RV storage in the bay area. They have now informed us that they are building a building where our RV is parked so we need to get out in the next month. A month is not much notice when Bay Area RV parking is so limited and now 50+ people are going to be looking for a space. Before Extra Space Storage bought out this facility it was great. But now, customer service is way down and they are jacking the rates sky-high!!!!! BEWARE - my unit has increased almost 40% in the las 14 months alone, so NOT cool! (The facility has mad no improvements during these increases. Just a post card every three months to say your rate is going up another $30, $50, $60 per month)

The facility itself is top-notch. It's clean and well kept, they have gated access 6 AM through 10 PM, and there are copious security cameras. The only thing missing is alarms on the doors themselves, and I've never actually seen a facility that does that (though clearly some do, since there's a checkbox for it on the list attached to the empty units here). I have been a customer for almost a year. I have upgraded my unit from a 5x5 to a 5x10 with no issues, but today I tried to upgrade from my 5x10 to a 5x15 and was told the web rate is only for new customers. I received the web rate for my previous upgrade, but it is unavailable for this upgrade. I talked to corporate and they explained that "web rate" is actually a NEW CUSTOMER rate, and also that if I close my account it must be closed for 3 months before I can be considered a new customer again.
