I needed a storage unit a few months back I was hoping to find one with hours that were open early and stayed open late. Well extra space drug that slot meaning they allow their customers to answer a 6 a.m. and then don't have to leave till 10 p.m.. now the entire process was wonderful Tasha is extremely professional and overwhelmingly awesome. Pass on this unless you want short term storage. Wish I would have read these reviews prior to signing up. Rates go up, but if you look at their website, they offer the same unit for lower prices. Essentially they gouge their current customers.

We rented a storage unit in June 2017. At the time, we,were,told the cost could go up in a year and it was,mandatory to get their insurance. We we're ok with an increase in a year, but we were NOT told that the insurance was unnecessary if we had homeowner insurance. Recently, we got a card informing us that the rate would change in November, which is only 5 months later. I agree with the other reviewers who talk about the con of raising your rent. I started out with a great deal for a l0 x 8. ( I didn't read Yelp reviews until I got all of my stuff out.) The great deal was $37 for the month. The following month went to the agreed $193.00. By the sixth month they raised my rent to $220.00! Really??!! When I got my notice I said to myself Bye Bye Storage because that is ridiculous! Pros - Yes, it is clean and gated.

Beware- read the reviews, they are true! They will raise your rates CONSTANTLY. If you only need a rental for a couple of months, it's fine. But if you need a long term rental, look elsewhere. RIP OFF. I am moving my things to another storage place before the of the month to avoid yet another rent increase.

I'm a planner. When I reserved a 10x10 space online, I taped out an area of my garage and put various totes and boxes in the space to see how many I'd be able to fit in the unit. When I was taken to the unit on the move-in date, it looked smaller. I didn't say anything at the time, because I assumed it was an optical illusion. Certainly they wouldn't rent out a space labeled 10x10 and have it not be that size. I take issue with any business that says you can cancel at any time but then will not prorate your payment once you've paid for the entire month. This is a horrible business practice. I would never use this company again. Other than being a clean and secure facility, the management is terrible. My rate went up in the first three months of me moving in, and have continued to rise since. There are so many storage options out there - this is the wrong one to use!

I have mixed feeling about this place. The units are clean and secure but that is about it. I should of ran after the first incident. It was a Sunday and I stopped by the center to drop off some items in the unit. I was alone and ran into a man in the hallway with no pants on, fully exposed. Scared the crap out of me! I left and I told them about this the next day and they acted like I was crazy for being startled and brushed it off saying the man had mental issues. Extra Space Storage is great...until you find out they raise your rate more often than a Maury Povich baby-daddy episode airs. Since joining the Extra Space club a little over a year ago, my rate has gone up twice from $80 to a now whopping $92. Sure, they provide a secure, air conditioned space for my belongings, but no amount of legalese justifies raising the rate that frequently on a space that hasn't changed one iota since I signed up.
