Honestly if I could rate a 0 I would. The customer service is horrible. The ******************** gate stays broken. If we speak about the predatory rate increases thats is a whole different bag of tricks. My storage rent jumped 30% when Extra Storage took over, I was late and a ****** space went to ****** with their added late fees. Also they force you to get insurance though them which is an additional ***** a month so now I pay close to ****** for a unit. So upset this company is a setup for failure lied about price and everyone says something different my price doubled in only 3 months when I signed up I came into the store where the employee went over the entire contract I remember them being in a hurry but made sure to ask everything I was signing and what exactly I'm signing nowhere did it say my price was going to double after 3 months with no notice or warning when I found out about this deal on the phone first again nobody said the price was going to go up they told me... read more

Have been renting for years and the price keeps going up and up....but a new customer can get the same size unit that I'm paying 220$ for at a price of 70$. So I currently purchased a new unit due to the need and now I'm stuck with a 270$ bill when I should b paying like 140$..just very shady practice. When I first noticed they were doing this. Extra Space Storage raised the rent almost 100% after four months. When I asked the staff working there if this would happen, she lied and said it was more typical for rent to go up about 20%. Just accept you will have your quoted monthly price for four months.

My husband got us a unit and we fell behind on the payments. We reached out to the store manager regarding a the unit and found out our unit was being sold and corporate was not willing to fix what their store manager had done.

** NEW RENTERS BEWARE *** THIS COMPANY DOUBLED BILLED ME WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE. THEY OWE ME A REFUND OF OVER $1400.00 AND WILL N OT PAY ME! Buyer beware. The facility itself is fine, but they use bait and switch tactics with their pricing to lure customers in and then astronomically increase your rate. My storage unit was initially $82 for a 10 x 10 unit in July. With additional insurance this came out to around $93 monthly. About four months into my unit rental, now November, I get slapped with a bill for $168 for a market value increase. They are still advertising the same $82 rate online for new customers. The Extra Space Storage has charged me excessive storage fees and late fees. I am paying 348 a month and started at 148. Now Im dealing with mice infestation at the ********, ** property. The employees are rarely in the office and always have a return later sign on the door. I went there on Saturday 11/4 and had to clean piles of mice f**** on my storage containers before I could retrieve them. They will raise your rent will double in a short amount of time.This company has changed ownership several times. It's now listed as Extra Space Storage or Life Storage. I was renting from them for several years - but over the past 2 years, my rent is now double (for a 6x9 small space). My latest bill is now $134. for this tiny space.
