This company is fraudulent and a rip off. They will scam you out of your money with many fees and when there system is glitching they will take no responsibility for the reason your payments are delayed. They need to get rid of ALL ExtraSpace Storages!

Extra Space Storage is a ******************** They take over existing local storage companies and then immediately implement their no notice price increases, with ongoing price increases every 3+ Mo. I moved from one of their locations a year ago and they just purchased my new location, they immediately increased the rent 35%, no notice. Bait and switch prices. Do not rent with them! Month to month renters will receive a rent price increase on their units 3 months in. The price doubled from $158 to $258 on a unit that still had their web offer online listed for $158. When I called in they were unrelenting and offered a small adjustment off but warned this happens TWICE a year! Shady crooks.

I don't know what is going on but there's clearly something very shady going on. Originally Life Storage, they announced Extra Space was buying it and suddenly (and without notification) they raised rent by 50%.Calling them was an exercise in frustration. The manager, who would not provide me any information for other people I could discuss the issue with, told me they can change the rent whenever they want to whatever they want. I hope enough people read this so they know not to trust this company. What a disaster.

Extra Space Storage in *********, ** should be ashamed! I've been a customer for 3 years. The first time, they honored the original rate, and less than 6 months later, upped the rate by 50%. I looked online and found a "special" so, I emptied old unit and got new rate. Now 1 month later, I received a 3"x5" postcard in the email, (dont know why cause I conduct all payments and notifications electronically) that as of 1 month from now, they want to up my rate by 53% "due to changes in market conditions" REALLY???? 1 month late... read more

If it were possible I would rate Life Storage( now Extra Space) a zero. I travel for my job and I had to search for a reasonable rate on a storage unit. I found a rate of $159 for a 10x10 which is not cheap but doable. I received a message that Extra Space purchased this company. I was not alarmed because I had rented from Extra Space years ago and they were great. I went on line to pay my bill and my rate was increased by $65. This is not acceptable. I'm a healthcare provider, & stored my things with Extra Space Storage in ** during the ******19 pandemic. I live in NM, but I stored my items where my family could get to them, in case something happened to me. I returned to ** in June of 2023 to move out of the unit, & discovered the entire contents of my storage unit flooded, & covered in rodent ************** I was told that their facility was damaged by Hurricane ***, & a rodent infestation from a construction project in the adjacent building that my unit shared a wall ... read more

They more than doubled the rent after only one year. Sure the original price was promotional, which expired after only 3 months. What they are trying to raise it to now is even higher than the "regular" price. They are complete scam artists and there is no accountability.
