I just had a horrible experience with an Extra Space employee. I am moving out as a result of many price increases, the most recent being $77.00 more per month. My unit is on the second floor so I need to access the elevator. The call button hasn't been working for the past few days so today I contacted the office. I was greeted by a rude, condescending employee. He begins by rudely telling me how to access the elevator which I have done countless times in the past and many times in the past few days. I had this unit for about 19 months. They didn't notify me when they raised my cost about 30%. I was moving all my stuff out so I called and told them my last day would be Tuesday. They charged me a partial month (which was perfect) but then the guy forgot to take off the automatic billing so I was dinged for over $400 and I didn't transfer money to that account so it was overdrawn. I have been a renter for over 10 years. I have always had typical rate increases over the years, but I recently received an increase of 30%. Needless to say, I am not happy and do not feel that this is a proper way to treat a long term customer. They obviously know that it is a pain to move your stuff out of storage and they will keep upping your rent as much as they think is possible.

Expensive. Does not worth to keep your things for this prices they charge. It is better to get rid off your things.

SHME ON YOU EXTRA SPACE STORGE One of the worst and an unfair storage facilities in Irvine No loyalty, no customer relationship maners, no values, no respect,or dignity towards their clients . Due to covid 19 many people lost their homes and businesses and many lives changed . On my 6th month here my rent was increased by $60. I requested to make an appeal as I have been financially impacted by COVID and have also dropped down to only 12 hrs/wk of work due to complications in my pregnancy. I am living mostly off my savings right now but had budgeted for the storage unit rent. We tried to cancel our storage unit. They told us that they could take care of it via email which we thought we did. We found out later that our movers had relocked the door rather than take the lock off. Rather than notify us of this, they just continued to charge us another $200+ monthly charge and didn't say anything. Good thing we check our credit card statement carefully and were able to stop this. Bad way to do business and would recommend a different facility that operates more ethically.

I have never seen such poor customer service ,in my life . Let alone from someone in management . This manger at this place I guarantee was employed at a level 4 correctional facility . And judging by her demeanour and poor people skills she was the mean And scary officer that even the warden feard upsetting her and dealing with her wrath. . he probably passed on his morning coffee if he noticed she was in the break room. SHES THAT UNPLEASENT .

Don't ever rent storage from this place because of the manager on site. Her name is Vicky and she's extremely unprofessional, lazy, unfriendly and has no idea what customer service is. She will give you a hard time and is extremely dismissive. I've had a lot of experience with storage units and she is the least accommodating in terms of service. I would go elsewhere.
