The staff at Extra Space Storage has gone above and beyond for us and the Girl Scouts of Santa Cruz Area. I would recommend them for your storage needs. Matt and Paola have been especially courteous to us.

I had been a customer here for over 15 years, since before Extra Space Storage's buyout of Storage USA. Unfortunately, the deterioration of the facility and the greedy rent increases have driven me away. They no longer provide a good value for the money. PROS: -- They have 5-6 flatbed carts available to move large items or multiple boxes. Unlike some places, these are not under lock and key, which means you can still use them after the regular office hours are over. Really very good service! They went way out of their way to make sure I got the size unit I needed for the price advertised - no hassles at all. Also, as a 1st year student at UC, I don't have a car and realized getting some boxes and basic moving stuff was going suck if I had to go on the bus - they have a 'moving kit' which was a little more than I wanted to spend, BUT they DELIVERED IT to me on campus!!! SO HELPFUL. Anyway, slightly more money - WAY worth it. Much better than my experience the 'Public Storage' deal.

This is my first time using self-storage and I needed a space for a two week period. Everywhere I looked it seemed like I would have to pay for the second month since most places offer first month free. I called Extra Space Storage and they told me that I would only have to pay in the move in rate! They only charged me 29$ for an entire month. The space may be good, depending on location. They DO raise rents every few months and they base it on market rate so there is no way to know how much. They will explain upfront but still you could end up paying a lot more than you thought very quickly. Good to know before you buy.

This location is 100% AWESOME! The manager Becky and assistant manager Keith both go out of their way to help you and to ensure you get the best value. I arrived into Santa Cruz with an ocean container of stuff from Hawaii and these two people did everything they could to help me when life was chaos. I would highly recommend this facility.

Total bullshit. Had an appt to move into a new unit and get a lock from the office this week and I show up and office is closed. Call the number and they said there was a call off so no one is coming in today. What kind of business shuts there doors for a call out? You don't shut down business you get another person to cover the shit. Completely unacceptable when I am here with a car full of storage items to move and unable to unload

The guy in the office is nice enough, but don't waste your time with this company. 1. Maggots... Or something gross (see picture) 2. Not safe. The guy convinced my wife that she should get a ground level unit because the upper floors weren't safe for a woman. 3. Deceptive business practices. They sold us on a monthly rate that was actually an introductory rate (hidden well in the fine print, and yes, you could say this was on us for not looking closely enough).
