Honestly I hate to leave such a horrible review during these times but I can't let this one go. I had called extra space shortage and put a unit on hold. Rep on my phone was very nice. When I arrived to this location to see and pay for my unit the guy was sitting inside with his sunglasses on. Twice I received a highlighted list if rules, the rules highlighted were alleged violations. I have a space in the end back corner and trash and debris ends up in front of my unit because of the wind. None of the trash or leaves were mine but it counted against me all the same. Well after those notice all if the sudden one evening I tried to go to my unit and my code wouldn't work. Tried it again first thing in the morning and still couldn't get in. I rented a 20 x 10 unit in March 2018 for $269. Fast forward to June 2018 (3 months later), I get a letter saying that they are going to raise the monthly rent to $432 to better reflect the current prices of similar spaces that are rented in the are!! That's a 60% increase just like that! That is just very shady and needless to say I moved out. They offer you the $269 to get you to move in but then they raise it right away to $432 knowing that most people will just pay it because it would be too much work and hassle to move ... read more

They were rude to me and hung up on me before I was done talking. I've never seen anything like this in my experience dealing with customer service.

Here is the thing. When you see an offer that seems too good to be true. It maybe. I called ahead and heard the deal and said...good to go...packed and showed up to move my stuff in....truck filled and ready to go...well...hold on partner...YOU HAVE TO PAY INSURANCE on your junk...what?? Yes an additional 14 dollars for your junk....but I don't want to pay insurance...company policy...that include in the price...

Worst service I have ever received. The lady that runs this place was rude mean and obnoxious. Will never us this place. Recommend using another storage facility.

I have had a 15'x15' space with Extra Space Storage for 7 years. On September 6, 2012, I discovered the locks were not my locks, and thus had to have one lock cut off to gain entry. I could not gain full entry because all of the springs were broken on the three doors to this unit, and I was told they could be replaced that day. But, more disturbingly, I saw a gaping hole on the wall of my side of the unit, that had been replaced on the adjacent side unit (and that unit had received a new door), and it looked like my space... read more

Is it cheap? No, not really and for some reason this storage facility seems to be higher than the other ones in Chatsworth and Northridge (at least for drive up units).I have a pretty big storage space (couch, large dining room set, and a lot of other shit) and I am paying $162 with no contract (no idea how long I will need the space for). This company is NOT honoring the price given on there own website! They will not return calls regarding the situation. Have tried to speak to someone at a management level on several occasions and get "Someone will get back to you within 48 hours" Sure they will. The customers that have existing units are paying well over the current listed price. I'm gonna have a friend rent a unit next door to save the money. What a joke!!! BTW, it is usually clean for what its worth.
