Overall good experience. The wait was around 45 minutes. I was in no rush and no one should be at an Urgent Care or Emergency Room. The employees were friendly and considerate. If I have to visit an urgent care I would return. I just received the billing statement and it was wrong. They didn't bill the insurance so I had to call 3 separate times just to get a hold of customer service to find out what was going on. After a bad fall on Saturday morning, my husband took me to this FastMed about 10 am. The attendant quickly checked us in and collected payment but thereafter seemed preoccupied with catching up on paperwork and preparing examination rooms for patients who hadn't yet materialized. Despite my fairly extreme pain, I waited 90 minutes to have xrays of my wrist taken. First off, this clinic on Millbrook Road in Raleigh is not "fast." As a matter of fact, there were only 2 people in front of me yet I was there almost 2 hours. The clinical assistant, Evan, was nice but "the provider" had a very flat affect and seemed uninterested, did not even manipulate my foot (which is why I came in) and did not bother to introduce herself. I had to wait an extremely long time and Zimbabwe was not made aware prior to sitting down and paying. I would not have stayed if they informed me. The front desk receptionist was very nice but very unprofessional. Once I saw the Physicians Assistant she had no "bedside manner". She spoke to me for less than 10 minutes before writing a random prescription that I later found out was extremely expensive but there was indeed a generic for that my insurance would have covered. If you have to go to an Urgent Care, do NOT go to this one!!! Your well-being and health will be in danger as they have extremely INEXPERIENCED staff that provide medical decisions. I had gone in for a horrific strep throat and the flu. There are NO medical doctors on site! NONE! Apparently BCBSNC has dropped all urgent cares besides Fast Med, and I figured, how bad could it be? I arrived at 3:11pm and requested to see a doctor. The woman at the counter, without making eye contact once, slid a filthy clipboard across the counter and mumbled something about bringing it back up when I was done. The check-in before showing up is nice, and once I got the call to come in I drove over (less than 2 minutes for me), I was taken to an exam room rather promptly after filling out a litany of paperwork. Then, I was forced to wait for over an hour in the exam room on the nurse practitioner, while listening to the ladies at the nurses station oogle over free Q-Tip jars that a sales rep was giving them. What a crapy place! The nurse at the counter was about as rude of a person I have ever encountered. Completely unhelpful, unprofessional and just an all around b$tch. Avoid this place at all cost. There is a Nextcare right down the street. They are far better.

I've always had good experiences with urgent care facilities, but this place made me understand why they can have such a shady reputation. Staff was extremely rude and not helpful in the least - despite having a throbbing ear infection, my boyfriend ended up walking out rather than deal with their rude and incompetent staff any longer. If the front desk staff (and the experiences of the other yelp reviewers) is any reflection of the rest of their employees, I'm certain this was the right decision.
