The fact that it's all more or less self service is a deal breaker. The food will not be brought to you. Is a basic service I expect
I just took a group of students to Fire & Ice on Saturday and the experience was much poorer than expected. The cooks burned the food and left constantly in the middle of our service. The cook cooked our seafood for 9 minutes, which is way too long. I had high expectations, especially for a group, but we were extremely disappointed. I do not think that it would be worth it to take another group.
The concept is fun for large groups, but going in a small group is awkward - unless you get up and get food at the exact same time, you might be eating alone for a while. The food is not that great, and our service was awful: I asked a waitress to top off our waters, and she asked me who my server was. Our water didn't get topped off until about 10 minutes later. There were also several servers standing around and chatting with each other and texting.
This was the second time that I dined here and had to request they fill the soup kettle. First time I waited about 15 minutes.Second I went that I had this issue I first arrived and it was empty. I stood ther about 5-10 minutes to see if it was going to be refilled and the staff kept walking by me noit asking if I needed something so I went to my table and went back 15 minutes later still empty. Upon the third time asking the girl standing near the grill and soup station said oh it;s empty, well "he" is filing it now. I said... read more
Well, my experience wasn't that good. They bring me the appetizers extremely late, the sodas refills never came and my food wasn't ready. I believe I'm still waiting for my burger. The server was alright. At least, the food that I taste was good. I don't think I go back to that restaurant.
Went to Fire & Ice for Mother's Day as recommended by a friend. They did not have enough drink menus to give us one. As it was our first visit, we waited around for a long time to get instructions on how to get out food. We were there for 2 hours and left hungry. The cooks put the wrong sauce on the food. They also ran out of ingredients, like cheese and bacon for the burgers. They toss all the food on a big stone. Which sounds cool until the clam shells break apart in your noodles and you are eating crunchy noodles. They ov... read more
"Energetic" is a euphemism for "loud as a dance club" apparently. I love Mogolian Barbeque so was very excited to try Fire & Ice. But the noise levels made conversation almost impossible in the dining room. People were raising their voices to be heard over the sound system set far too loud for a restaurant. Getting jostled and pushed by teenagers and twenty-somethings who, apprently were worried the restaurant would run out of food did not make things better. Nor did being pushed aside while waiting for my food to be cooked ... read more
We are frequent patrons here. This experience was not so great. After making reservations, we were seated in the middle of the busiest section of the dining area and were constantly getting knocked by people walking by us. When asked if we could be moved to a booth, we were told that the wait would be over an hour. We sat at our table and waited for our waiter, who took about 10 minutes to even greet us. Normally our food would have been in the process of being cooked by this point. Luckily, just before our waiter came over,... read more
I made reservations for my wife's birthday for my family this particular evening. One of my kids dropped a bowl of rice that we reported to a backend lady and she rolls her eyes...really! Waiter was great; however, it took ten minutes to get a beer so they gave the kids free ice cream. Later during our meal it took just as long for a second beer - not good! As we waited for our check for a long time the waiter informed us there was an error he was having adjusted. Probably 15 minutes later the female manager visits our table... read more
