My college aged son had fraudulent activity on his debit account at the beginning of March. The card was deactivated and a new one was sent. He never received it. After calling three weeks ago, we were told a new card was sent. He still has no card. No one will call us back and no one has helped us AT ALL. We have been loyal customers since 1998 and may need to start banking elsewhere.

Since day 1 I’ve always had problems with this bank. From the customer service to its reliability. First off I was told I was getting free complimentary checks for opening an account , so I said yes I’ll take them. This is the second Uber hack in a month - first was using a debit card FirstAm supposedly deactivated 6 months ago. New Uber hack yesterday on a different family acct - again I have to complete forms, take to the bank & wait for charges to be reversed. I have never used Uber. Been with FirstAm since 2000, but this is not the bank I signed up with and all accounts will be moved as soon as I decide on a new bank that actually has security measures in place.

they don't keep staff for international wire transfers on the weekends. is there only one person that does this function? i wish i knew that sooner. almost impossible to do this during the week.

Jesse, wire transfers are processed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. CT and 4 p.m. CT. Like other banks, we do not process wire transfers (domestic or international) on weekends, only business days. For international wires being processed through consumer accounts, First American Bank must comply with the Dodd Frank Act. The Dodd Frank Act requires banks to provide a disclosure at the time the wire is processed. in today's world deposits such as CASH APP, ZELLE etc post and is available IMMEDIATELY except for First American Bank. it is so frustrating to have OD fees when u have these automatic deposits come in to clear the OD. CS reps are NOT available by phone all day like other Banks. only during banking hours so if u have an issue after bank hours TOUGH LUCK. This is a small bank and operates as such. Fee after fee. Every time I travel my card gets shut down. Even when I alert them that I’m traveling. So many better options in the bank world. I have banked with the same bank for many years and first American took over my bank last year. Time to find a new bank.
