An absolutely awful experience with Fox Rent A Car and the aggressive and dishonest approach of their sales agents. Rented a car with them via Expedia only to be told at their Fort Lauderdale Airport location that Expedia's rates did not reflect their real prices. A three-day rental for which we paid $271.57 on Expedia ended up costing us an additional $261.12 or nearly twice their advertised rate. Spent over an hour on the phone trying to reach their corporate headquarters in order to file a complaint, but nobody ever picks... read more

HORRIBLE experience with fox rent a car do NOT use!!!! I only wish I had read the multiple reviews about this dishonest scam of a company with all dangerous cars that breakdown and practically nonexistent customer service that is if you don't mind waiting in line on the phone on hold for an hour and then getting hung up on. We received an old dirty piece of junk car that broke down on us at night at dinner I spoke to the most unprofessional roadside assistance people ever in my entire life. This review is about Fox Rent A Car located at XXXXX Radar Court, Fort Myers, FL If I could give zero stars, I would. I'm a very frequent traveler and rent cars all over the world, and several times a year in Fort Myers, FL. The experience at Fox on Radar Court was one of the worst - prepare to be scammed if you rent from them. DO NOT USE I rented a car thru Orbitz for 5 days in Ft Myers,Fl. and my total went from $244 to $348 when I got the bill. I was told not to fill up the tank as they didn't want me touching the gas cap and there was a sign that showed 2.51 per gallon.. I was charged $8. They tried to tell me my car insurance in Missouri was no good in Florida and wanted me to get theirs. I refused. She told me that I had to have a sunpass ** I could not use the highways. Fox Rent A Car employees explicitly tell customers not to fill up before dropping off their cars because Fox gets a better per gallon price. However, they intentionally neglect to tell them about the $49 fee they charge to fill up the car. This is criminally misleading, and a very common complaint shared among former Fox customers. Quite frankly, it should be investigated.

Any added item to a rental must be a part of the signed rental agreement. I show that you signed for fuel at the time of pick up for your Fort Myers rental, and that the fuel was used upon return of the vehicle If that is not the case, please contact us at ***************@foxrentacar.com.

We were provided with a car that had an old battery. We found this out in the middle of the desert when the car wouldn't start. We were lucky to have a family near us to jump start the car. The next morning the car wouldn't start again so we called Roadside assistance. The first man I talked to was extremely rude and the only resolution he offered was for us to drive back to Salt Lake City to swap out the car (four hour drive one way). DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! Used this for our AZ spring break trip starting on March 20th 2021. I pre-paid for the rental back in February using my debit card (first mistake). At the same time they charged me for the $400 deposit I guess thats their policy ok fine. We got to the rental area on the 20th and there was a long line. When I got to the counter the girl helping me was doing many things at once even talking to who knows who on her cell phone. I would advise anyone against doing business with this horrible company. Be warned that your reservation with them means nothing and is not confirmed and their employees are extremely rude and unprofessional. We had a reservation for a car at Miami airport and when we showed up to pick it up, the person behind the counter, who also claimed to be the manager, tells us that they gave our car to someone else and if we want a car we would have to pay a whole lot more to rent a different car! This business advertises prices that you will pay in full online. It even asks you to either select their insurance or decline. But that is dishonest. Once you go pick up your car, they force you to get their insurance. When I said I would use my own car insurance the attendant rudely tolde to get back on the shuttle bus and go to the larger carriers and see if I can get a car from them. The hold on your card would have been released from your bank as soon as final charges were initiated. The charges were done against the authorization so any remaining funds would have been released by your bank on that day. If not, I would urge you to contact your bank.
