I rented a SUV from LAX fox rental. Paying 643 dollars for the 205 miles I drove in 17 days period The car's trunk was hard to use, the air was unpleasant and nauseating fragrance. This car got XXXXX miles with preexisting rear bumper damages. I took it because that was the only choice. My nightmare happened when I returned the car. I made a reservation/prepaid with Fox Rent A Car online weeks before my flight to Denver. My return flight is at 0600 from Denver. When I picked up my car a woman in the back of the building where I was inspecting the car told me "did you see the sign on our door that we open 0600 Effective immediately ". My husband and I called the customer service line to arrange drop off at Denver airport location to accommodate an early return flight. Rented a car in April from the Ft. Myers location. Unfortunately the desk agent was under the influence of a narcotic and was fading in and out during her speech.. No manager was able to report this to but the manager who stepped out was aware of this when he kept looking over at her. A week passed *** we received a call that the agency had no credit card on file, when actually we used to credit card to pay for the transaction at time of rental. Fox Rent a Car Inc in Fort Myers tried to keep my deposit of $100 with no justification!!!! I had to go through my credit card company to get my money back. Worst customer service ever!!!! I will never ever do business with them again. A customer should not have to deal with such an unprofessional organization and go through what I went through to get my money back.

Rented a car in March from Fox. I should have known better after a similar experience in Los Angeles a few years back. I prepaid so that I could pick just what I wanted AND DIDN'T WANT. I was still billed for Emergency Road Service and Supplemental Liability Insurance even though I declined every block on the form. The agent was 3 feet back behind plexiglass with a mask on. LAST NIGHT MY CAR BROKE DOWN. IT TOOK 25 MINS FOR THE PROMPT TO ASK ME TO LEAVE A MESSAGE. 1 1/2 HRS INTO THE ORDEAL SOMEONE FROM OKLAHOMA CALLED BACK AND SUGGESTED THAT I WAVE SOMEONE DOWN FOR HELP. THEN SUGGESTED THAT SHE ONLY TALKS TO LIVE PEOPLE AND I WAS LUCKY THAT SHE CHECKED HER MESSAGES-THEN TOLD ME I HAD TO WALK 2 + MILES BACK TO MY VEHICLE ON A DARK MAJOR HIGHWAY. Avoid this company!!! I saw several negative reviews but gave them a chance anyways. They advertise one class of car to rent and give you a totally different class. They do not go by manufacturer classes, they make their own up. We rented a mid sized SUV and were given a compact, I showed them its classed as a compact and they said they don't care, they only go by what Fox classifies it as. I would never recommend this company to anyone. The employee, Zenaida, stressed that we should NOT fill up our gas tank when we return in. She stated that their gas was cheaper and would save us money. She stated they charged only $3.13/gallon. She even wrote "return empty tank" in sharpie on our printed out receipt. She was very adamant about this. After we returned the car we were charged $8/gallon!! Since the car was on empty (as instructed), it was over $110. Zenaida completely took advantage of us. I am very disappointed with the customer service and lack of professionalism from this rental car service. I booked a rental online and prepaid. I was charged a $400 deposit since I was using my debit card, which I was okay with since it would be refunded upon return. However, at the counter I was told I needed a credit card since we were going to drop it off at another location.
