I wish I would have read reviews before renting from them. I did rent a few years ago and had no problems. This time they gave me a ragidy car and the engine made noises. They also conned me into signing the damage waiver which cost me an extra $20 a day. I spoke to a manager who wouldn't refund after I told them how I verbally refused it but somehow it still ended up on my paperwork.
I rented a car was dirty inside and out. Then the car broke down. Under the hood, the car was just as dirty, oil was black and nearly dry, the same with all the other fluids. The engine's throttle was faulty, but they company wouldn't allow me to fix it and get back on the road. I was forced to leave the vehicle for pick up, find my own way home from a family situation, but now they're telling me since the car was outside their area when recovered and the car isn't physically back in Las Vegas, my account is still active. Worst car rental I have ever experienced. Don't even deserve a 1 star.
This business does not maintain its vehicles. We were given a car with four bad tires. We had a flat tire on the freeway. There was no spare tire in the car, only an air pump. We made our way to a mechanic shop where the mechanic told us 2 of the tires were so bald their safety bars were exposed. He was surprised we did not have a tire blow. Fox did not explain charges fully. We were charged for a 2nd driver when there was none. Both of us signed contract as I used my credit card to pay for lease but companion drove. Were charged for toll charges and a second driver which brought fees up another $50.00 daily rental fee look too good to be true because it is - Site charged $97 for 4 days but were charged another $108.00 for toll fees, and 2nd driver fees upon delivering car back to Fox Rental Co. I made the mistake of booking this rental car before checking reviews and paid the price. For starters the rental car facility is offsite and you will have to ride a shuttle to get there, which isn't the end of the world just a little bit inconvenient. Now on to the bad. When we arrived the line was out the door and there were only 2 employees assisting customers. It took over 2 hrs to get up to the counter. Typical bait and switch. We booked an economy car for $78, arrived at the airport and it wasn't available, so they UPCHARGED us to another class we didnt ask for. They should comp for the error, not make me pay more.
If there was a zero star thats what they would receive from me. First off it was a last minute trip and no other company had cars in the area but Fox did. That should have been the first red flag. My wife and I rented a midsize car and when we got to the rental location, which was well off the airport property, we were told to pick anything in the section 6 area. Not having our reserved car available, forced to upgrade which caused price to go up. In addition to the price going up we were upgraded to a V8 from a 4-cylinder causing our gas mileage to be worse.
