Rented from Fox Rent a Car, Inc. at the Tampa International Airport. We made our reservation through Expedia. We arrived in Tampa, collected our luggage and headed to the rental counter to pick up our vehicle. There was a line extending past the other counters and wrapping around towards the stairs. The question is how is Fox rentals still in business?? The worst car rental experience ever. I reserved my car two weeks prior, landed to San Francisco airport from Nashville TN on 7/12/18 and spent more than an hour in line to get my car. Then waited another 15 min to get my car bc it was at car wash. I was supposed to be in Livermore CA at 11:30, but arrived there 2 hours past. I have booked a Pay Now reservation and we are flying into Seattle airport at 11:30 pm. We accidentally booked this rental a calendar day after we arrive. It seems reasonable to just extend this rental one additional day. I have called twice and had a lengthy "chat" with 3 customer service reps. I consistently heard the same response. You cannot modify your rental and it's $70 to cancel. I'm not confident that I'd get my $150 deposit back if I cancel but the $70 fee is enough that I am not eager to pay fee on principal. I booked a reservation for a Full-size car at SJC Airport. The guy at the counter says that he has only Ford Focus to offer. We asked for options and all he did was go to a lower class. He then went on to talk about how lives might end and how dangerous it is to drive on the road and how I might lose my life. Not only that, but he had the audacity to taunt everything on my DL. I would like to complain about Fox Rent A Car located at 3100 SE 6th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL XXXXX. I rented a car the week of 6/18/18-6/22/18 and after having been stranded at my hotel for hours due to car issues, I was finally able to get the car to start and drove back. The car was traded for something else, however, once I dropped the car off on 6/22/18, I was checked out, given a final bill which stated my deposit of $150.00 would be refunded to my card. FOX RENTAL CAR AGENCY I have to say this was the WORST rental experience I have ever had. I reserved my car thru Expedia two months prior. When we got to the rental center there was ONE agent and the line was at least 15 customers deep. Another agent showed up 25 min later. By the time I got to the agent he said he had to close and go on a break. I got back in line. At that time the line was at least 20 customers deep. Fox Rental was a huge disappointment. We were charged much more than advertised, did not get the car we requested. The car we received was dirty. Their reason was because they don't use soap because of the animal environment. We refused first dirty car, and the second was not much better. They said they don't accept AAA or AARP,
While leaving the Denver airport location in July of last year, the vehicle in front of me suddenly went into reverse and backed into the car I rented. It happened quickly and I was unable to back-up to avoid the collision. The damage was to the hood and because of the chaos of the scene (the other driver and family were very confused and clearly had trouble with basic driving skills), I offered to continue to drive this car. This place is a joke! Both my son and I had reservations for San francisco airport location. We arrived and heard them telling the gentleman ahead of us that he was 12 hours late for his reservation and his van had been given away. Well guess what? We're up next only to be told that there was no mini van for us either. Why? We weren't late.
