Mary Plunk is THE BEST esthetician I have ever met. I am Hispanic and have hair in all the wrong places. Moving to Seattle out of high school, I was not familiar with all the ways you can deal with this. After a horrible 1st wax experience, I was lucky enough to meet Mary at Gene Juarez 30+ years ago. Juan V cut my hair. He did an amazing job. My hair still looks great and is super easy to maintain after leaving the salon just I like have requested him to make it that way. And he's so easy and fun to talk to. Thanks Juan.

I was able to schedule a same-day haircut with Juan, and could not be happier with the service I received- and the results! I have long, straight hair and needed a clean-up and reshaping. Juan listened and confirmed the style I was aiming for. He provided an AMAZING shampoo experience, and then proceeded to cut my hair with tremendous focus and care. I love Gene Juarez! I have been coming here for years and every time it's absolutely worth it. It's an easy check in process, they offer you coffee or tea while you wait (I love that they serve Market Spice tea!). My hair stylist Sofia did a great job on my hair, she took time to listen to me, was very precise, and styled my hair perfectly. The vibes are very calm, peaceful, and high end. I absolutely recommend Gene Juarez and Sofia (especially if you have long hair)!

I've got a gift card for my daughter to get a Keratin treatment at the West Seattle location. The lady who took care of my daughter did quite a decent job, but I'd recommend Gene Juarez instruct their staff to refrain from making comments about client's accents, etc. The young styler who did my daughter's hair only heard a word out of my mouth, nonetheless, she decided that it was okay to make unwelcome questions and comments to my teenager about my accent after I left. Leonardo Coronado is the ONLY high-end, individually placed hair extension ARTISTE in the Seattle-area. Worth every penny and a genius. I've had his work for 15 years and no one can believe every hair on my head isn't mine. He is a PRO. And so loyal to his clients. Jumps through hoops to help with scheduling.
